Penge Video

Does anyone have a copy of a Video of Penge made in the 60s. I have a feeling that there was a copy made by the Penge Rotary Club and another made by a resident.

Thanks

Books on the history of Penge

Apart from the David Johnson and Doris Pullen books. Would anyone know if there have been any other publications on the history of Penge?

Penge group photo

This is a group photo of what looks like a sea-side outing. The group are from a factory or company in Penge. Does anyone know any of these people? The photo looks like it could have been taken late 40s. It is a large file and could take time to load. http://www.beckenhamhistory.co.uk/pengeouting.jpg

Ah! The Jubbly, you took about 2 hours to finish one then went around with bright red or orange lips depending on the flavor.

Edgingtons - Penge High Street

I was informed that when builders took the Edgingtons sign down it exposed the old Bryce Grant Stores sign.

Did anyone get a photo of the event?

Gates in Old Bromley Road

There are some gates at the entrance to Ten-Em-Bee Sports Ground in Old Bromley Road. They look like they are well over 100 years old. Does anyone know if they were the gates to an old mansion?

Great image Falkor. Looking at the map and Falkor's image. I would say that the center of the TV Tower is where the the N is on the North Transept as marked on the map. Looking at the original photo I would say that the image was taken from the North Tower that is further back. Compare the original ...

I am informed that the North Tower was 284ft high, this photo looks as if it was taken a bit higher up. But then it looks as if the the photo is to far back to be taken from the TV mast.

In the photo a path can be seen leading away. Is this the same path that is on the map?

Yes it could be. This photo was in a batch of 1930s images.

Where was Rockhills in relation to the TV mast?

What we need is Falkor and his brilliant map overlays.

Hello hello Falkor this is nighthawk are you receiving me, over.

Has anyone any idea what year this photo was taken? On the back of the image is written "From the Tower - Crystal Palace" I presume this is the TV Tower.
