sean, I'm inclined to agree with poppy that the story is that people are up in arms about the prospect. By the converse, it would be non-news once the decision has been made with finality, as at that point it's history - if you see what I mean. I vaguely recall the massive outcry re the hospital at ...

Hi. Re BBC contacts, you could send an email to: gareth.furby at bbc.co.uk (Edit: his email addy appears as a link which will try to open your email facility so you can send a message. In other words, it's not a link to a webpage.) He's a roving reporter with camera who does 2 or 3 minute slots on t...

My only knowledge of St Christophers Hospice was from calling to ask for advice about what to say to (how to interact with) someone who's wife is living on borrowed time, to help me not put my foot in it. Their doctor(?) helped with things to say or not to say and also provided a list of useful URL ...

I reckon sophie has hit the nail on the head re which dentist you see, in almost any practice, since it's the actual dentist rather than the practice that you'll set store by.

In my experience, it's worth getting different quotes, but also good to be able to compare them - e.g. hardwood or softwood; how fitted (some are held in place with expanding foam, some aren't); will the windows be sealed and then painted? (note pre-sealing loses some effect if they have to be shave...

Have a look at this thread. It's on a friendly car forum which allows and enjoys silly banter, so not all the 23 replies are serious LOL, though some good information and links are given:

Hi sean - my post wasn't sarcasm - it was a headwind both ways - honest. Maybe tournado style winds blow down rather than across? Glad damage in your area was limited to a garden shed. Hi lambchops. Nah, the chances of me having the physical strength to get a ring pull off a can of beer at that time...

My view is that Somerfield is way more expensive than just about anywhere else, including local shops and even "metros", presumably to support their Bogofs - though they are good value of course... Don't see how you can make profits in Sydenham if your main customer base is for Bogofs thou...

Hmmm... Dunno. That supermarket, even when Safeways, was always run on a shoestring IMO. They did a refit a little while ago. Presumably the turnover/profits they need just can't be made? Mind you, I've seen a lot of peeps who simply give up re queues at the odd checkout that happens to be staffed. ...

Only just seen this. Well, the original poster might not have been that far off. I tried to rush down Sydenham Road on foot just before the shops would shut last night, against a pretty hefty headwind (I'm a slight person and had to stagger to make progress). This is all very worrying. Hi Nina. Torched cars are normally ones which have been stolen for the purpose of joyriding and then are burnt to destroy evidence, e.g. fingerprints and DNA. Usually applies to fast-acceleration sporty cars, hence it wasn't a good plan to own a Vauxhall Astra (being a prime target) at one time. In ...
