Re: Lewisham wide 20mph roads
It is tricky to drive as slow as 20, some stupid people drive too close behind either don't know its 20, or don't care. Also confusing is red route still being 30, and where there used to be a 20 zone, the entry signs still up, making you think you are leaving a 30 zone. And of course this isn't Lon...

Re: Parking tickets
yes, yellow box junctions, you can be stationery, but only if you are turning right, and only if you stopped from continuing by vehicles approaching from the opposite direction (ie your route out of the box will be clear when you can cross traffic). Otherwise you must not stop in/on a box junction. ...

Re: Cold Call - There is a problem with your computer
I had a cold call on Monday, the lady said she'd ask me three questions, and it would only take 1 minute. So I said that was ok. she asked me to confirm that I was who they thought, and that the address was correct, and the third question was about something (I forget now), but I stalled for time sa...

Re: Bonfires in back gardens.
If it really stinks, it might be illegally burning things that can't be disposed of without large payments. Possibly you should contact the council, environmental health section? make it an official complaint, they can be done for burning certain things, like tyres for example. https://www.nidirect....

Re: More helicopters lately?
there was a drone over out back garden recently - not sure if it was just a local neighbour with a new toy, or a person with criminal intent doing a reccy.
there's no obvious way of knowing where they are being 'driven' from.

Re: Looking for some council advice
they would have had to have approval for out of hours working, from either local council highways department or TfL, or both. Sometimes emergency works can be done straight away with retroactive approval, if it really is an emergency. but this doesn't sound like that. I'd ring Lewisham council, get ...

Re: Co-operative Food store to rebrand as a Budgens store
Please don't! as much as I did really like CoOp, and don't particularly like Budgens, if you must shop elsewhere, then there are plenty of other places you could go before deciding to go to T£sco. almost everything you want or need can be had on the high st - Fresh and Fruity, Billings, Cake Shop, P...

ah yes of course, not particularly big, and 'the other side of the tracks'. I forget that that is still Forest Hill, I tend to think of FH only being on one side of the railway for some reason.

Re: Sydenham Cars SHOCKING
my wife tried to use an uber, with the free money that she got to open the account - she was running late so organised it on her phone to pick up from FH station, to get to near Livesy Hall. When she got outside FH station the car wasn't waiting, and when she checked her phone, it had driven off wit...

I cycled to work, in Hackney (about 10 miles)
hottest day of the year, trains screwed, travel card ran out yesterday, ... how many more reasons do I need to cycle to work (for only the second time this year!)

Re: Road renovation Highclere street
depends on a lot of factors - probably best to email highways@lewisham.gov.uk and ask them. it's not a through route is it? probably wears out slower than other more trafficed roads. Lewisham Highways should have a 5 year planned maintenance for CW and FW resurfacing, it'll either be on that or not.

and the bent sign post opposite is now fixed too!
I complained to Lewisham about it, as I nearly got caught in the face by the sign attachment, as I wasn't paying enough attention walking along the street.
good that the water leak was fixed quickly though!
