Mayow Park - New exercise equipment

A round of applause to Lewisham Officers who I am assuming have been instrumental ( but am sure I will be corrected on here if that is not the case) in getting the outside exercise apparatus erected in Mayow Park. I have watched this going up for the last couple of weeks and I think it is very encou...

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?

Sadly, the wheels of local government, together with this reluctant developer, grind ever more slowly.

Quite frankly, we'll believe it when we see it. Patience Eagle!

Re: Cherry & Ice Games Night

Goodness - all this talk about rules, etc I am wondering if Cherry & Ice are now regretting putting a games night on :) I think it was only meant to be a light hearted evening for locals to get to know each other. Hope it doesn't turn into WW3 with people disputing every move.... Love the though...

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?

Haven't seen any sign of movement on this and I pass by every day sadly. Still an eyesore. What's the betting that it will still be a building site in April? Syd Soc - any news???

Re: Uninhibited parking Cobbs and Lawrie park rd

The chaos of the other night will hopefully be used if and when they apply for any Temporary Extension Notice (TENs). I know Matt MGrath the Licensing Officer witnessed the rumpus, the illegal parking, etc first hand and I have every confidence that he will cite this to the Committee as reason for n...

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?

I hate to be a party pooper but there goes the first deadline! Purelake will be looking for any old excuse to prolong the rebuild. Sorry to be all gloom and doom - I would love to have hope over experience but I'm afraid, for me, experience with this particular venture wins out every time. I hope to...

Re: Uninhibited parking Cobbs and Lawrie park rd

The authorities,by that I mean both the Council and the police, need to act in favour of the local residents who have suffered enough. Its more than that Gilly. It is the safety of everybody passing through that area and also all those that depend on one of TfL's key 24/7 routes. One that their cli...

Re: Uninhibited parking Cobbs and Lawrie park rd

Here here Stuart! They've been given chance after chance - time to close it down. The authorities,by that I mean both the Council and the police, need to act in favour of the local residents who have suffered enough. If the clientele to this club is so vast that it causes mayhem and chaos every time...

Re: Uninhibited parking Cobbs and Lawrie park rd

Sorry but the 'event' being a wake is not, in my book anyway, an excuse or justifies this sort of behaviour. Totally unacceptable. Also points to a complete inability by the club's new management to control the situation and prevent chaos. If they can't control their patrons over holding a wake on a...

Re: Uninhibited parking Cobbs and Lawrie park rd

Oh well so much for all the big claims about attracting a more mature crowd who won't be rowdy! Can't work out whether they're just all going in or leaving. Parking all over the pavements and on corners with double yellow lines. Shouting and car horns beeping. Any comments from the 'new' management ...

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?

Maybe they meant that they would be on site by April 2015? May as well give them the benefit of the doubt - they're been getting that for years where the Greyhound is concerned. We wouldn't want them to hurry into anything too soon now would we?

Re: Updating parking standards?

I don't understand where this demand is coming from. Lewisham has one of the lowest rates of car ownership in the country. If the Council properly introduced and enforced residents only parking in the residential streets around the Borough there would be no problem. The demand is almost exclusively...

Re: Updating parking standards?

Totally agree. Local authorities just trying to make as much money as possible out of the parking permits selling them to any Tom, Dick & Harry and rather defeating the object of the exercise. As this deliberately blinkered council incorrectly assumed at the planning stage of Cobbs court that be...

Re: Updating parking standards?

At the risk of repeating myself on the burgeoning issue of commuter parking in the surrounding area of Sydenham station, all that would be needed is a 'resident's parking only' scheme between the hours of 12.00 - 2.00pm. Bromley council have successfully operated this in many areas in the borough. I...

Re: Threatening behaviour at Lower Sydenham Station parking

I agree parking has got crazy in the surrounding streets since the opening up of the gate to platform 1 at Sydenham station. However, I do accept that drivers have the right to park on the public highway where there are no restrictions. So, although it is inconvenient and sometimes really irritating...

Re: Threatening behaviour at Lower Sydenham Station parking

Try living in Peak Hill Gardens and the surrounding area - it's a nightmare to park during the day because of the commuters into London - the gate to the up line to London Bridge is at the bottom of the road and also we residents have to contend with the patrons of LA Fitness which is just round the...
