Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?

Just, absolutely, truly gorgeous.... almost ( :) ) worth the wait and frustration and temper tantrums...

The are outside is huge: won't there be enough space for tables and chairs outside - does anybody know if that's a plan?

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?

Yes, you must be right, Parker. It's just that I find the G Lion so vulnerable and inconsistent I sometimes wonder for how long people will be prepared to give them time to adjust... Sometimes we have fabulous food there, other times not; occasionally the welcome is less than friendly, possibly beca...

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?

Neither can I... and the only thing that (really) worries me is the impact its success will have on the Golden Lion. We have been hoping against hope the GL would do well, and supporting it as regularly as we can - I really like it. But what can compete with what is gradually turning out to be a (po...

Re: Lewisham for Corbyn - Momentum

Oh no... I didn't know about it & have only just read your post - I would have gone and reported back! And then I would probably have to cope with Eagle et al having temper tantrums but do you know what: I wouldn't even care. If anybody has gone please let us know? This is all far too important ...

You might find someone more local but if not we got this contact from this Forum - and he did a great job of installing both lights as well as CCTC cameras in the alleyway behind us.

Someone who can diffuse conflict with grace, counter anger with humour, maintain us informed and on the ball, keep us from losing sight of the fact this is only a forum, not a matter of life or death... and who has no time for tribalism but at all times supports conciliation - this is what we have g...

Re: Station approach - new toilet

I said I would try and investigate and have done so. The Toilets in Sydenham Station Approach were vandalised, as we know, and I understand the manufacturer is due to make a repair - date still to be confirmed. Its position, colour and type was apparently agreed during the Sydenham Scheme developmen...

Re: Any Calais drop off points locally?

I am happy to help with transport as well as any organisation needed. However, and without in any way sounding parochial, I wonder if we could have a Sydenham based collection provided someone will do the "holding" of the goods and the money for us all. Also, tomorrow is really too soon fo...

Re: Any Calais drop off points locally?

I am very keen to find out exactly that Olivia; I hear/read about loads of areas where this was done and huge amounts collected. Just not sure how to start, who would keep the moneys (and/or resources) - as they come in, who to give it to at the end (or as we go along) - does anybody know or have id...

Totally agree: we too are following a rigorous "no more stuff" policy. I can't face cleaning the garden stones till maybe next year but you are very welcome to borrow our steam mop anyway (as well as some of the detergent you need for it); we bought it because according to Which this was a...

Great that you will have yet another menu soon, agree with the comment on roasts, and delighted that there will be live music again: that...

Re: Station approach - new toilet

I have just emailed the fabulous Cllr Rachel Onikosi to ask for any advice on how we could proceed on this. She is highly intelligent, effective and ambitious when it comes to the well being as well as "look" of Sydenham. I have also asked if she would be able to gather the help & supp...
