Re: Payless Food & Wine on Kirkdale
Any idea on what it is going to be? According to another nearby reatiler, it was going to be some kind of poundshop, but I was told that some time ago. The owner has been in my flat a few times with some builders to repair the flat roof outside my bedroom window which was cauing leaks into the shop...

Agree Troll comment very unjustified/unfair. I was finding that debate somewhat interesting up until that point, albeit slightly off topic as it goes to demonstrate how complex these affairs can be. Back on topic and my opinion (of which I do not invite or need comment - it’s already clearly unders...

Re: Incident at the bottom of Westwood Hill
If he caused the injuries himself, we are all better off without idiots like this on the road. "IF" being the key word. We don't know the facts. Whislt I have also seen motor bikes zooming down the street blowing their horn to get people out of the way, we don't know if this guy was one o...

Re: Incident at the bottom of Westwood Hill
There was also a un-marked police car with a senior looking person that arrived around 07:35am so it would appear to be a very serious incident or one that involved a police vehicle requiring a full incident response.
Must have happened around 7am

Re: Sunday - Finally a day of peace
Its been quiet for a few days now since I saw them up a ladder in the siren box. Though I suspect they did not want to pay for the alarm company to fix it is because of some signs that went up today saying it is closed until 31st May when it opens under new management as "Ocean Fish Bar" w...

Five times today, and it is the fish & chip shop, I have been over to it and it is their siren sounding, but they are closed so no one to shut it off.witchesrave wrote: ↑18 May 2019 15:56 The alarm that went off today twice was the Sainsbury’s alarm because I went in and told them and they turned it off...

Re: Sunday - Finally a day of peace
I’m fairly certain that the alarm actually going off was above the ATM for Sainsbury’s. If you go in and tell them, they switch it off. It is obviously faulty but they will turn it off once made aware. No, it's not, I know that one as it has gone off before and the staff at Sainsbury always sort it...

Re: Moving to Sydenham
Sydenham is well situated for transport as others have mentioned even though it takes 60% longer to reach London Bridge than it did when I moved here 32 years ago. 32 years ago there were less commuters and less trains on the tracks... of course it won't be as quick... 60% is an over-exaggaration t...

Sunday - Finally a day of peace
Today the Harbor 321 Fishbar is closed and as such their fire alarm that has been going off for 6 days straight is silent. Peace. Serenity. I complained to them twice on Friday Evening about the alarm constantly going off, a young employee told me the alarm company are not answering their phone.. I ...

Re: Government to pay £200m for safer cladding
Personally, the freeholders should have been legally enforced to resolve it, it should not be the taxpayers that foot the bill, but that said, lives are more important than that I am glad the goverment have stepped in to resolve it quickly. I drive past Grenfell everyday on my way to work and it sti...
