Thank you both.

Re: Car break in
There were 3 car break ins in Collingtree rd ( off Kirkdale, just round the corner from the SE23 ones) 3 weeks ago. 2 reported to the police and me who didn't bother. Mine is an old car and they got 5 year old sat nav in the glove box (which I've used 3 times so replaced with an up to date map) and ...

Re: Speed Camera Westwood Hill - Which speed???
It's not going to stop speeding cars. As I said earlier it's not normal people who speed it's the d**k heads who do and don't care. My son aged 12, many moons ago, was hit by a speeding car in our road as he crossed. Dropping the speed limit isn't going to stop that sort of thing happening. From the...

Re: Speed Camera Westwood Hill - Which speed???
Tadpole If it does reduce courier deliveries to the area , then wonderful news. Continued delivered to flats , being asked to take parcels in for others. I use local shops and do not buy on internet. I try to save local jobs . Less Vans making deliveries great great great. Deliveries include to the...

Re: Speed Camera Westwood Hill - Which speed???
Reducing the speed limit is going to make naff all difference to the cars flooring it and then breaking sharply in my road and others around here. I've had 3 do that in the last 25 mins and will probably continue 'till the early hours. It's not the law abiding citizens that cause accidents, it's the...

Re: Speed Camera Westwood Hill - Which speed???
The daftest markings for 20mph has to be at the start of Recreation Road, the cul de sac that leads into Mayow Park.
The road is 8 houses long. I'd be hard pushed to get to 20mph after turning the corner without doing an emergency stop before hitting the gates. Waste of money putting it there.

Re: Lack of post in Sydenham?
I have put in several complaints to the Forest Hill sorting office over the last month and was told that they had made changes to the rounds in SE26. For example, I've had 'signed for' card left, arrived the next day at sorting office to collect it, only to be told they didn't have it, nor did they ...

Re: Refuse services in Sydenham
My brother lives in a flat above a shop in Highgate, so not local but does give you some info. He can put any rubbish out in black bags and leave it my a lamp post Monday to Friday after 8pm and it's collected by midnight. He is not required to recycle anything due to limited storage space within th...

Re: when your sofa becomes trade waste
They're very nice there. I should pay £3 to dump waste as I'm not in their borough but they usually look at my 1 item and wave me through. I even took a small bag of rubble there and expected it to be weighed and charged for the weight but again I was waved on. It would cost me more than £3 in petro...

Yes, they started making a noise earlier last night. Finally drifted off around 3am only to be woken by my alarm clock at 7am.

Re: Stabbing on a train
I don't understand why anyone would object to stop and search. If you have nothing to hide then it's a few minutes of your life taken up, but the next few minutes of someone else's life taken up by being searched could have saved yours another day. My son is in his early 30's and since mid 90's when...

If it's a public right of way, then they can't stop anyone using it. If it's not then they can.

Re: fatal stabbing in Wells Park Road.
It's made BBC news. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-27655016 The road is still blocked off and plenty of police there still. For those who think bringing the police back on the street will help, it won't. I've lived here since '62 and as a teenager in the 70's I can assure you there were...
