Re: Fox Cubs -Sydenham Road / Newlands Park
Things changed on 20th June, which was the last date when we saw all three of the cubs. After that only one was left, although he/she is a very regular visitor. The mother still comes at night, and I hope that the two absentees have just moved on to better things rather than being killed. The remain...

Re: Lewisham Council - Thank You! Not!
I recognise the final picture. It is from Nora in Orebro, central Sweden. The church was the clue. They didn't have a Danfo toilet there in my day!

Re: Not sure what the problem is.
So how should we handle troll-like posts? The easy answer is "don't feed the trolls". A respectful silence, or a thousand caustic responses ending just short of the submit button would be my answer. But I understand that others feel they can't just let it lie, they must challenge and/or e...

Re: Fox Cubs -Sydenham Road / Newlands Park
We rarely see all three cubs together, but Foxcam caught pictures of them a couple of evenings ago. They must be three months old now. The next day a couple of them came sniffing round our feet when we were sitting in the garden, and the second picture shows that they can still look pretty cute. Loo...

I don't know. I just thought it was a good idea and worth sharing but next time I don't think I will bother posting it here. It was worth posting, Lee, because it is an interesting idea. Mosy's points were unfortunately valid ones. In our H&S / litigation culture an unfunded scheme of this sort...

Re: Sydenham High St Stabbing
I was sad to walk past the Co-op a few minutes ago and see the group of solemn young people gathered at the corner, the rack of tribute flowers, and the sand on the pavement.

Re: Fox Cubs -Sydenham Road / Newlands Park
Although one of the cubs is still a bit small and scrawny, the other two have grown so much in the last few days that one thinks of them as young foxes rather than cubs. Unfortunately they are now far too large to squeeze out under the front of the shed, but occasionally they come out when we are ha...

Re: Fox Cubs -Sydenham Road / Newlands Park
The link are dead here, perhaps repost the links? For one of a variety of reasons, all of which imply sloppiness on my part, the latest two pictures had image links which specified localhost, which only works within my system. I have corrected them, but only someone outside my router can know if th...

Re: Fox Cubs -Sydenham Road / Newlands Park
Please reupload your latest photos. They're not there. Thanks for looking after the fox cubs. They're amazing. They are hosted on a local webserver connected to my BT Infinity fibre-to-cabinet broadband line. As such they are always online unless the server has crashed or the router is down, neithe...

Soiled nappies would be a small price to pay for the enjoyment we get from the cubs. The snap below was taken about 20 minutes ago. They get visibly bigger every day.

Re: Fox Cubs -Sydenham Road / Newlands Park
A milestone has been reached. At about 04:30 yesterday FoxCam picked up one of the cubs out in the garden at the food tray. A few minutes later the vixen, whom we have not seen for several weeks, put in an appearance. She must have started taking them out. Regards Chris http://edmxtech.co.uk/photos/...

Re: Fox Cubs -Sydenham Road / Newlands Park
How does the vixen get in and out? The shed is exposed on two sides, and then has a 15" gap to fences on the remaining two. We tend to stuff rolled up garden furniture covers, gazebos and suchlike in the gap entrances. I surmise that the vixen has an entrance in the enclosed region. A few minu...

Re: Fox Cubs -Sydenham Road / Newlands Park
A fortnight on, and the cubs look much more like foxes now. We think that there are only three left of the original five. It is a real squeeze for them to get out from under the shed now. They are more alert and cautious than they used to be. Regards Chris http://edmxtech.co.uk/photos/20150422_foxcu...

I am interested in which barber you got the bad haircut from. Interestingly enough, I don't get a good cut from the owner but all the others have been great. My experience has been the opposite. I always wait for Lev, the owner, to cut my hair since he always does an exceptionally good job. Regards...

I guess that is what Ravel felt when he orchestrated 'Pictures at an Exhibition'. I confess I prefer the original Mussorgsky version for piano.Tim Lund wrote:...... originally for solo piano, I wondered why on earth anyone wouldn't want such music more richly orchestrated..
