This is quite possibly the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. Both of the courses we ordered were cold, the chicken was pink and the chips were undercooked. We were sat upstairs even though there was room downstairs and they couldn't work the air con so it was a pretty sweaty and uncomfor...

I too still need to get down there, Gooner did tell me on Saturday (after 20+ beers) that the service was slow but the food was lovely.

I used the AA eventually who were very good. I first used 'Des O'Connors' who were a little less than great. I was hit with a 3 point fine in my fourth lesson when I went through a traffic light late, you think the instructor would be paying attention! She then had the cheek to ask if anyone I knew ...

There is already a chicken shop up that end, wonder what they think of the extra competition?! Bose Chicken Shop is normally part of the leaving process as I depart the Windmill!

Aesthetically, yes the Greyhound has improved but the staff are still more concerned about messing around behind the bar and the 'managers' walk off and start wandering round the pub when your waiting to be served. Personally I would never take my family somewhere where the toilets are as bad as the...

Dolphin pub?

Does anyone know whats going on with the Dolphin pub?

It used to be quite a nice pub in the summer (10 years ago!) and apparently its under new management but as yet I have seen no improvements.

It still looks like a dive from the outside!

Funny how they claim to have improved the service to justify stopping the 5% discount on monthly ticket renewals when the majority of London bound trains are late or made up of four coaches rather than eight!

There are a few CSO's around but to be perfectly honest none of the one's I've seen, seem capable of chasing a speeding granny on a zimmer or standing up to anyone.

When was the last time a beat bobby walked up the high street and not a spotty 14 year old in a uniform three sizes too big?

I've always thought of Chefs Delight as a great cafe and brilliant for soaking up a bad hangover! 8)

Plus it is one of the few shops in Sydenham that appears to be doing well.

We do need a few more 'Coffee Houses' though.

Apologises on not being clear enough, I was referring to the Greyhound. I believe the Golden Lion to be an outstanding local which provides a refreshing pint in a classic pub surrounding.

The Golden Lion is not a bad pub, classic old man boozer where the slightly higher prices keep out the younger people. There is still an element of the old Greyhound about the place and the bar staff rarely move from messing around behind the bar to actually serve you. This is all done in front of t...

I don't know if anyone else has noticed but there seems to be a big problem with flies in the Windmill on Kirkdale.

The White Hart is an interesting new pub, there is also one across the road that will do you a lock in without even asking!

Global thinker I completely agree with your view that the forum is not the best place to advertise but to be let down whatever the situation, especially when somebody does it in a not particularly nice fashion can be upsetting. I apologise, as it was unfair of me to single you out in a public forum,...

I think certain people need to chill out and not make assumptions about others so called 'desperation' when it was clearly an invitation to go out, have fun and a few glasses of the good stuff. If I'm correct, 'JR' has been impolite to other users in other topics on the forum. Good luck in your ques...

On a serious note, I am actually in favour of introducing permit only and CPZ's in some areas of Sydenham, (Trewsbury Road included) at certain times of the day. Sydenham is well served by public transport from most areas. Am I wrong for wanting to look out of the window and not see a road crammed w...
