A sensible distribution of bike racks would also be useful for us dog-owners, who now have less place to tie up their mutts on the decluttered high street when popping from shop to shop on foot.
*awaits grief from those who assume my dog will invariably be nicked / bite a small child while tied up*

Re: Market Research - Cinema
Oh, have the seats in Beckenham been replaced? I too used to hate that place, with its cramped and uncomfortable seats, local as it was. Mind you, Bromley was even worse. The foam was popping out of several seats last time I went. Right now, I alternate between the Ritzy (I like the vibe) and the 02...

The Bridge Tavern in Penge or the Florence in Herne Hill. Both big and extremely kiddy friendly. The Florence even has a play room.

Re: second pedestrian light by Sydenham station
If Lewisham imposed a £5 charge for parking at Sainsbury's, I'd drive to the one in Penge, or the Tesco in South Norwood. Even accounting for the cost of petrol, it would be (marginally) worth it. Or I'd buy online, and get it delivered.

Re: second pedestrian light by Sydenham station
As someone who walks around 30 miles a week, it would be easy to condemn someone for driving two miles or less. But you try lugging paving slabs from Catford Wickes. Or a large bag of manure from the local garden centre. Could you do it on public transport, or on foot? Maybe, just about, if you we'r...

Re: second pedestrian light by Sydenham station
London's roads are busy for around 4 hours per day during weekdays, and slightly more so at weekend. Outside rush hour, they are under no pressure whatsoever. Oh, and in answer to the Copenhagen question, transport decisions are usually related to the size of the conurbation (how long between busine...

Re: second pedestrian light by Sydenham station
I'm sure the residents of Penge, Jews Walk, Kirkdale or Forest Hill would love that plan, not to mention the employees at Sainsbury's Savacentre. Let's displace all that pesky traffic onto your roads instead, and keep Sydenham High Street in splendid isolation. A vote winner for sure.

Re: second pedestrian light by Sydenham station
Perhaps we should set up barriers at each end of the high street, and appoint a committee to vet each car driver individually, to ensure their journey is "important". Jeeuss, the level of anti-car sentiment on here is tedious. It is also a decidedly "London" thing. Those of us wh...

The property was recently bought at auction (with planning permission for flats / bar below), and quickly resold. I assume the new purchaser intends to develop the site according to the previously-granted planning permission.

A meal at the Shard…
Me and my other half went for a birthday treat meal at the Shard last night. We went to Oblix – the restaurant bit, not bar, which was a bit noisy. Chronic overstaffing apart, it was lovely. The food was very good – and we actually left full, after wolfing our way through the three course menu. The ...

At wells, i think you register online in person as a one off and, once you have an online id, you can book future appointments online. Might be the same there.

Sorting out the bins at Crystal Palace Park
Some of you might not be aware that there's currently a campaign to sort out the bin problem at Crystal Palace Park. Essentially, the bins get full to overloading at weekends, which the foxes then shred. There's a petition here http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/bromley-council-clean-up-crystal-p...
