Re: Masks
I regret to report that after the initial surge of compliance, I now see fewer masks on Sydenham Road and on my last trip to Lidl there were 4 unmasked customers. :-( Regards Chris Complacency has set In So my neighbours are having a massive garden party is this allowed now? Current guidelines stat...

Seen a few down at the Longton Nursery allotments, behind Longton Grove, in the last few days.
Re: Masks
Today, I had to make a journey which involves 4 buses (2 there/2 back). I duly purchased face masks for this having been told like the rest of us that this is now mandatory. I am extremely surprised and upset that the vast majority of who would be classed within "BAME" were NOT wearing fa...

Re: Tranzmission Festival (Rave)
I’d be astonished if this went ahead. They may be trying to sell tickets but there’s a reference on their website to possible cancellation and refunds. I guess the organisers are hoping restrictions will be lifted but I just can’t see that happening.

Re: Consultation on Proposal to Close Silverdale/Bishopsthorpe Road to traffic
Last I checked these two streets are not exactly heaving with pedestrians weaving in and out of each other. The social distancing argument is rubbish. What about the alleyway that runs from silverdale to station approach? Narrow as hell! So if they are serious about social distancing this should ei...

Re: Consultation on Proposal to Close Silverdale/Bishopsthorpe Road to traffic
Pleased to see the council is planning temporary barriers on Wells Park Road to stop the dreadful parking on pavements near the park. Social distancing as pedestrians is impossible there at present unless dodging traffic while walking in the road...

Re: Social distancing on the High Road
There are some people who just won’t respect the rules. On the other hand pavements are too narrow in many places, which is the problem when our towns and cities are given over to cars and pollution...

Re: PFC Penge Food Centre Sydenham Road
I doubt anything will change with PFC - assuming they're not behaving themselves - unless their business falls off a cliff or they get prosecuted or threatened with prosecution. And the latter relies on us, as consumers, reporting to Trading Standards. You'd have to make sure you had as much evidenc...

Sydenham Grand Prix
What’s with all the high speed racing around Sydenham today? Sounds like bikes or F1 cars doing a circuit repeatedly... I’m off Westwood Hill.

The boards are very useful on allotments for suppressing weeds, building compost bins etc. The posts can build netting cages. I’d happily take them
Re: Mural?
In Sydenham everyone feels they have to have a say in everything, and if they don’t get it they see conspiracy everywhere. It’s a bit sad really. I mean, we’re talking a mural here not the future of local housing services

Re: Where do people dispose of their lightbulbs?
RecoLight have low energy light bulb recycling points but round our neck of the woods they're only at the main council recycling centres, which is absolutely no use at all for those of us who don't drive. Shops are more than happy to sell us this stuff but not to do their bit and collect it. No wond...
