Yes, but it is right next to the parish church of South Dulwich and is in SE21 so they do have a point. But after over a hundred years existence I think its a bit late now to change it.

I went along to the "meet the manager" session at Victoria station this morning, where I spoke to one of the managers about the reduction in the number of carriages on the 08.29 service on this route (Sydenham Hill to Victoria) compared with the 08.28 service which ran until the timetable ...

It's not easy to briefly summarise crime levels when there are many different types of offences, and there are very real difficulties in obtaining statistics that can be relied upon, but I hope viewers find this of interest. Across the range of offences shown, Catford South and Crofton Park seem to ...

Crime statistics

Quite a few threads have covered crime, or the threat of crime, and (after seeing something similar on a different website) I have found this information on the Met's website: http://www.met.police.uk/crimefigures/datatable.php?borough=pl&period=year This shows various crime stats for the London...

Well I think that Wells Park is well maintained and looks lovely. Not been to Mayow Park for a while so I can't comment on what that looks like but why should one be so much better than the other? The "friends" groups do sound like a good idea - would it be possible for someone to provide ...

Well according to The Times, Waitrose have expressed an interest in buying some of the Somerfield stores rather than the business as a whole: http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/retailing/article3207294.ece Whilst I love Waitrose and would welcome them here with open arms...

Thank you Nasaroc for your comments above, which I completely agree with. Kenny's arguments are quite pathetic and worthy of contempt.

There have been quite a few threads of this nature in the last few months so well worth looking at what has been said before. I have not lived here for very long and have found this site to be a really useful way of finding out lots of useful and interesting information about the area. However, in s...

I have used the 08:29 from Sydenham Hill to Victoria both today and Monday and I am rather annoyed that there are now fewer carriages (two less I think) so that there is now considerable over-crowding. Is this the case for other morning peak services? Is there any chance of getting our missing carri...

Sadly video shops are a bit passe these days, now that so many people rent via the internet (e.g. through Amazon) or watch films on satellite, so I don't think that you will see any more opening up.

How can anyone really know how safe or unsafe any particular area or street is? There are some absolutely lovely parts of Sydenham as well as some rather grotty parts, but how can anyone really tell what their chances of being mugged at a particular time or day are? And if you do decide to get a cab...
