Completely agree with Rachael's comment & it makes such a difference having more than one active admin rather than just one :-)

Re: Neglected areas in Sydenham

We (FH Traders) just recently came across BID (Business Improvement District) & a couple of our active traders had a first meeting with someone from the initiative earlier this week. It seems to be a great initiative from what we know so far and could possibly give us 50k per year to put back in...

Re: Sylvan Post

There was a problem with a gas fire last Friday afternoon so they closed straight away incase of any safety issues which is why there was no warning. The problem was fixed, then as Rachael has said they had another problem so were closed yesterday but all has been fixed now and they have reopened to...

Re: Parking problems

With regards to the CPZ consultation in FH as a resident I was against this as the Road I live in (Rockbourne Rd) was just outside the CPZ area intended. My Road is already filled with commuters parking & this would have been a disaster for me as a resident, as a trader my shop is on Dartmouth R...

Re: 'Legible London' sign outside Palace Wines

I agree with you Rachael that it should be down to LC who I gather (from previous posts) are supposed to maintain these & TFL who funded these to repair them, but neither seem to be willing to do this. If traders/residents/groups are able to raise the money to have these fixed I would assume &am...

Re: 'Legible London' sign outside Palace Wines

Sorry for the late response on this guys, but I don't see why traders shouldn't contribute to this one way or another. Biscuitman1978, I wish you well in your new dwellings :-) We or I get very involved in FH activities. If one Sydenham trader could take the lead on this project I'm sure it could wo...

Re: 'Legible London' sign outside Palace Wines

Here's a few suggestions that might raise the money to get the signs fixed quickly. - Ask all businesses (shopfront or not) to donate something (i.e dinner for two, use of venue for party, occasional cake, voucher etc) for an auction. I'd also suggest that you ask the venue (local pub, cafe etc) whe...

Re: 'Legible London' sign outside Palace Wines

Just wondering if anyone wants to respond to this.

I'm FH not Sydenham but happy to suggest ideas of getting funding together if anyone want's to take the lead.

I don't necessarily think it needs to come from residents.

Thoughts would be good for starters :-)

Re: 'Legible London' sign outside Palace Wines

Going back to what Michael suggested, I too think it would be a good idea if someone were able to print a map & list local shops & businesses until these are able to mended. Regardless if the original one was bespoke or not this could still be doable at no cost if a few people are willing to...

Re: What Happened to the Funding for Signage in Sydenham?

Marymck FH only got £2500 or £3000.

Our new shop directory/map stand cost a lot more.

The rest was paid by assembly funding we were awarded & the traders paid £1500 out of our own money.

Re: Cars vandalised in Peak Hill

I'd just like to ask why some just assume this is young people from TNG, I don't think this is very fair if you don't know for sure. A while back the same thing happened to me & my neighbours in FH (Rockbourne Road) one evening. I must stress this was when previous owners ran the Railway Telegra...
