Re: Playgrounds
Wells Park playground used to be good, but its rather sad and decrepit now. I know budgets are stretched, but I cant understand why Southwark and Greenwich manage to have parks with super playgrounds but Lewisham don't. Im not sure how individuals could get together to improve the ones available? Ho...

Playgrounds
Ww have lots of really nice local parks, but none of them have decent playgrounds. The one at Crystal Palace is pathetic for the size of the park and the number of kids that visit. Doesn't match up to Greenwich or Dulwich Parks which both have really good playgrounds. Wells and Mayow playgrounds are...

I assumed it meant Who Do You Think You Are? Which is quite a good interpretation of my post. I was trying to explain why I questioned the sweeping generalisation made by the OP

[quote="Eagle"]Strolled down Sydenham's poshest road , or so the residents believe , on Sunday. What evidence is there that "the residents believe HD to be the poshest road in Sydenham"? How many residents have you surveyed to reach this conclusion? The reverse snobbery displayed...

American Nails in High Street is brill. It's nice and clean inside and a reasonable price. I am often in there for a pedicure and manicure. The staff are lovely.

Re: Sydenham Green Group Practice
What about if you know you need antibiotics for something like cystitis - the pharmacist is no good and if you can't get an appointment for a fortnight you could have a serious kidney infection. Phoning at 8 am is useless as last time I tried I started at 7.59 kept on redial till 8.20 and then all a...

Re: Amazing family friendly days out 1.5 hrs from se26
I took 4 year old to Coolings Green and Pleasant and to be honest she was bored after about 5 minutes. The animals were a bit too far for her to see and anyway they were just lying down and really uninteresting. We did have a picnic and an ice cream so it wasn't all bad and it isn't very far. Godsto...

Re: Hall Drive
No of course it's not right to be rude to dog owners, cat owners, budgie owners or anyone else. I did note there is plenty of dog poo on the streets of Sydenham ( the railway bridge seems to be a favoured place) which is unpleasant. I am sure there are loads of responsible owners like OP and I am no...

Re: Hall Drive
I agree no one has a right to be rude to anyone else and my mantra is good manners cost nothing, but just because a couple of rude people in a certain street are unpleasant doesn't mean everyone else who lives there is. If you made other sweeping generalisations about people who lived in certain are...

If you don't like it that residents take care of their road then walk a different route and let your dog poo where you like. There's plenty of uncleared up doggy do on Sydenham pavements.

Re: Pilates/yoga classes
Beckenham Spa has a really good range of classes, I recommend Darren who does a Monday and Thursday morning. All the doctors in Sydenham seem to run phone at 8 am for an appointment and you can never get through. I haven't found them particularly good, hopefully they may improve their access.

There is a Pilates class in Silverdale Sydenham I think if you google Pilates Sydenham you should find it, they also do a class in st barts on thurs evenings. My friend does this one and has good reports of it. . I go to Beckenham spa where there are a variety of Pilates classes at different times.
