Hi all,
Looking to register my family with a dentist after 15 years of avoiding one! Can anyone recommend a nice, not too expensive dentist locally?
Many thanks.

A Rant About Roadworks
Coming home again today I notice that there are no active roadworks on Sydenham Hill and yet they have left the traffic lights to control traffic. This is the second time in two weeks they have gone and left the traffic lights for the weekend although no road is dug up. The roadworks are crazy aroun...

Thanks for the link. It appears that the Crystal Palace Community Association are getting 3 and a half days at the inquiry to represent their view. This seems rather excessive given that they are just a minor part of the local scenery. I'm not entirely sure that the local populace are well served by...

toddler groups on Thursday mornings?
Hi - does anyone know of some nice local toddler activities on a Thursday morning? I'm Upper Sydenham/ Sydenham Hill/ edge of Forest Hill, and I'm trying to walk and use the pram rather than zooming off in the car to a soft play :o). Or any music groups? (I know Forest Hill have one on a Thursday af...

Eliot Bank School Fair - Saturday 20 June 2009
Eliot Bank Primary School's summer fair is being held on Saturday 20 June , 11am to 2pm. There's enough to keep the whole family happy, with cake, plant, sweet, toy, book and pocket money stalls, plus a tombola, lucky dip, bouncy castle and face painting. A BBQ will be sizzling and there's also a re...

local scouts
Hi - I wonder if anyone can help? Several friends in Beckenham have told me how much their 5 yr old girls love Rainbows (pre-Brownies). I understand the boys' equivalent is Beavers (I know, I know). Does anyone know if there is a group locally? (I'm on Sydenham Hill, as close to Forest Hill as Syden...

Steve, not sure how that adds to the discussion frankly. It made the BBC, Sun, Telegraph, Mail, Mirror, Standard yesterday. What's new is that she is now wanted, hasn't paid the fine, is likely to lose the house, and all these papers are covering it. It may not be news to you but I found it interest...

The house was raided in 2007 after complaints from neighbours about animal welfare and animal noise issues. All of the animals including the horses were removed apart from the peacock which still lives around my garden and eats my beautiful flowers. I'd eat it for Christmas except that the neighbour...

Unfortunately the dartboard is no more (Nintendo Wii night on Thursdays though).... Although the work is completed on the Dulwich Wood House it would appear that their planning application was refused (now in appeal state) http://planningonline.southwarksites.com/planningonline2/AcolNetCGI.exe?ACTIO...

It's disappointing to see how the CPCA are only representing opposition to this development. I was banned from Virtual Norwood for expressing support of a previous proposal (not the cinema, that was just bonkers) and criticising the CPCA for hijacking the consultation - I do hope that won't be the c...

Police and Fire Engines at Dulwich Wood House/Beltwood House
Loads of activity on Sydenham Hill in the last couple of hours. Lots of police and multiple fire engines milling around. Not possible to see whether it is Dulwich Wood House or Beltwood House as there are cordons around.

Hi, The Wood House is my closest pub and I've been in a few times since the refurb. Firstly, I'd recommend the Wednesday pub quiz (8.30 start) to anyone - they have some great questions and the quizmaster is always entertaining. In the summer when the garden is open again and the terrace is warm eno...

Stolen Number Plates
Hi I also live on Crescent Wood Road and both my and my neighbours plates were stolen earlier this year. It's easily the darkest street around so it's no wonder. We also had our skip stolen from outside the house back in January. Not sure what we can do about it. There was a campaign for more street...
