Re: Voting Today
I agree. Poor show indeed. This thread is about encouraging all to have their voice heard not about scoring imaginary points with intentionally inflamatory language and unproven (and unprovable) statements

Re: Voting Today
I was pleasantly surprised by the number of voters at the polls this morning. Normally I don't see anyone else there voting. This morning there were 4 or 5 others.

At least we have the new Sainsburys Local I suppose. Can't see this as at all positive. CoOp is not great but way better than Budgens

It is private property. It is free for using the shops. Not for using the trainEagle wrote:Surely people could walk from home to nearest station.
I thought the ugly car park at Bell Green was free anyway , although must admit , thankfully
have not visited it for about 8 years or so.,

Re: Parking problems
Looks like cars are being moved from Tredown Road by truck...if anyone is missing a silver Corsa, one has just been deposited on Maitland Road. Only the one car - the car parked in the 'Car Club' space. It actually hasn't been all that painful - more notice would have been nice, but I was expecting...

What a great little shop. Light and airy. Good selection. The refillable Bob Bottles look interesting. Bought some nice beers

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?
It would be terrible if it was a Costa! Back to my comment earlier about High Streets becoming so generic. You go to Oz for example and that just doesn't exist. Consumers avoid big chains, high streets/cities don't allow chains. And if you run a chain each has to look different and be individual. I...

Certainly not all over. We've not heard of it. Perhaps as we have front gardens and side passages to store the bins in when they are not out for collection?

Similarly we live just round the corner from Tung Sing House so just go round. The downside is that the don't accept cards in store; only via just eat. I don't habitually have cash on me as almost everywhere takes cards so sometimes have to get cash specially

Re: Newlands Park gas work
if you made it Bus only , where would the traffic that uses Newlands Park go? Cator/Trewsbury? Just making it bus only wont convince those car drivers to use the bus instead, however much anyone might wish. Which is already busy enough, especially with the parking at the Trewsbury road exit that pr...

On the other hand I pretty much only use the on the day service so I'm not too happy about this as no doubt the available appointments will be gone before the pre 8am queue all get one meaning getting there even earlier (if I want to see a doctor I aim to queue from 7:20 now)

Re: Starting-up a Barbers business in Sydenham
Whilst I wish you good luck I'd recommend walking the high street first. Without thinking hard I can think of 2 barbers and at least 3 hair dressers in one short stretch of road. The barbers I use will scissor cut my hair (more expensive than clippers) for less than £15. I'd say margins are tight an...

Can't agree on Golden City. Have eaten there twice (always give a second chance). Both times the food was pretty terrible. The second time they went one further and ran out of beer to wash it down with. I've honestly had better microwave meal Chinese
