From what I understand, the schools building programme is under review, but no decisions have been made. I would expect that much of it will be cancelled, but some may go ahead, if the planning is already at an advanced stage.
In other words, no news yet, but expect it to be bad when it comes!

Development of site in front of Sainsburys, Bell Green
I see there is finally some action at the site in front of Sainsbury's at Bell Green. Saw some seriously heavy plant moving in there today, and there are new fences.Anyone know what's going on there? (apologies if this has already been discussed somewhere - I couldn't find any thread on this)

Someone over on the SE23 forum has lost a black and white cat. They thought he might have been run over, and he didn't have a collar, but there is always a chance that someone put a collar on this person's cat (weird but it happens!) Also, you can take the cat to any vet to see if it has been microc...

I got this reply from tfl today about these lights: Thank you for your e-mail dated 18 May regarding the traffic signals at Mayow Road / Sydenham Road. I appreciate you taking the time to raise this enquiry with us and apologise for the inconvenience caused. We are aware of the issues you have descr...

My sympathies. We lost a lot of our photos in a hard drive meltdown. Now I do a print out of the really important ones every few months onto high quality paper - the stuff that is guaranteed not to fade for 100 years! Plus we back up in two different places. Like most people, we learned the hard way...

I agree- when the lights aren't working (and drivers have realised rather than just sitting there), everything moves through quite fast. There are enough gaps in the traffic on Sydenham Road for the traffic in Mayow Road to get out. But maybe it's the pedestrian crossing that's more important? Talki...

It can be very difficult to work out what you are being charged. If you check your journey history online, it will show the fare charged in one column, and the balance in the next. However, if the fare has been capped, the fare actually charged can be lower than the fare shown - the refund is reflec...

Looks like they are working again now. That's the third time in six weeks this has happened. What bothers me most is that tfl and/or the maintenance company don't do anything to let drivers know what is going on. I reported it this morning at about 9am. At 1pm I went past - lights still on red, big ...

I think lots of people in the City will start using the ELL instead of shleping down to London Bridge. My husband works at Liverpool Streetand is getting the ELL from Shoreditch. Already much quicker for him even with having to change at New Cross. Once the ELL opens at our end I don't think he'll e...

Mayow Road Traffic Lights
Once again the traffic lights at the end of Mayow Road were stuck on red this morning. This happened a few months ago, and a few years ago it was happening every few months or so. I thought they had it sorted, but apparently not. I reported it to TFL this morning. They are supposed to alert Lewisham...

It may be worth having your sleep disrupted for one night if the repairs are done properly. Many potholes were given temporary patches when the snow cleared in February, but that just made things worse. Within a week, the repairs opened up and there was new rubble and stones all over the road to add...
