Actually, the biggest issue that local residents will have to look out for is Tesco's delivery van. When the new shop opening up at Crystal Palace, the huge articulated truck turned up early in the morning, made loads of noise when it unloaded, and occupied the space outside the shop for a fairly lo...

No one's going to drive to that Tesco, so I can't see what the deal is with "traffic". Besides, it's on a main road. The Tesco in Crystal Palace and West Dulwich opens till 11 without any problems. How much "noise" does a shop actually create? Really? What happens if Tesco pulls ...

Does this mean I will have the chance to buy fresh meat, and vegetable that aren't rotting, without having to trek to forest hill?

We're talking about plans to cut down two trees here - not to slaughter slaughter two first-born children! Stop agonising about it, and get on with it. Jeus, they can always be replaced, if that's what people really want - it's not as if these trees are part of an acient forest or anything. They wer...

Ok, who tipped off Private Eye about the Forest Hill Pool shenanigans? It's covered in "Nooks and corners", page 14, on the issue dated 22 August - 4 September.

Honestly, I have never met a more media-savvy local community as you lot! Alastair Campbell would be proud of you all. :)

the first TVs with built-in freesat decoders are starting to come out now. Reckon they should start to become standard in the next year or so, just like freeview is now. I think it's possible to get a disk that collects more than one signal. So a sky subscription for the lounge, and HD freesat for t...

It's these kind of threads that REALLY make me wonder about the state of the british psyche... So, here's the facts: the station area is always busy. So it's quite unlikely that's you're going to get mugged in a crowd. Then there's some shops, again where people congragate. Then a fairly quiet, well...

if you walk to towards crystal palace station, there's two - or one from crystal palace park road. the 227 (bus station and cpp road) is fairly quick. I call it the chav-mo-bus, because of the large number of screeching teenagers that use it to get to beckenham and bromley. the 358 (bus station) is ...

I'm sure lots of sydenham residents could "easily" walk to forest hill, lower sydenham sydenham hill, penge west, or take the bus. that's not the point. what kind of numbskull closes a gate that we now know (simply by the number of flyers handed out) upwards of a 1500 residents use every d...

Ok, so if they let you in at the gate.

there's no oyster reader, you can't touch in.

So what do you do - pay the fine at the other end, or cross the bridge to pay???

dufus.
