I sent the OP some prime pictures taken by the Foxcam in our back garden. I have just been to ask Foxcam how it feels about images it has taken being available without remuneration.
It did not deign to respond.

Re: 20mph zone proposed for 'Thorpes' area of Sydenham
If we leave aside Bishopsthorpe for a moment, and assume that speeds are now reduced on Queensthorpe, we find that 'the problem' is people driving an average of 22mph on Earlsthorpe and Dukesthorpe. Is it right to criminalise these people driving 2mph faster than the proposed speed limit? I think s...

Re: SYDENHAM ON WIKIPEDIA
If so, I've been trying for ages to get the blogs for Home Park, Mayor Park and Sydenham Library added to them. whenever I put them on there, some bugger removes them. Your latest effort was reverted by XLinkBot, which does not like links to blogging sites. No idea why it may work for some people; ...

Yes there is Chris, its because people put it into other people's bins! Thanks, Annie! I had a small bet with myself that you would respond thus. I think I was a comedy duo straight man in a previous incarnation. Personally I would always carry the bag of excrement home with me, but then I spent a ...

Incidentally, although as an aged codger fixated on the good old days I hate to have to say it, there is a lot less dogshit around on the pavements now than when I was a lad.

Re: Freeview reception problems last night?
Changed channel allocation on Freeview does not affect the quality of a received channel. Was it raining at the time? I find bad weather can have a negative effect on the signal strength for some channels.

Re: Two tone lifts
Tim, lifts that go ping are out, speaking ones are in. I guess that means that lifts in local authority buildings will have to make the announcement in seventeen different languages, including Urdu and Punjabi. It would at least encourage people in a hurry to use the stairs  Regards Chris

Re: Two tone lifts
Would this work if you only heard one ping? What would your context be for knowing it was higher or lower? No, what you need is three notes, either rising or falling. That was what occurred to me as I read Tim's suggestion. I thought of a two note sequence but your triple would be much better! Rega...

When I walked past on Monday evening they seemed to be having a great time...one was having a p1ss against the wall, a woman (in the loosest sense of the term) was smoking a spliff, tattooed face man (Spider is his name apparently) was having an argument with another gentlemen, while another was sh...

Sydenham definitely has fibre-to-cabinet broadband now, because I was switched to BT Infinity an hour ago. Up and download are now about twenty times faster than before. Happy Bunny!

Re: Penge Homebase parking scam
My wife rang the shop manager who wanted me to go to the shop so CCTV could auto recognise me and they could find me on their tapes. Why should I be made to go to the shop, have my mug shot taken like a criminal to prove I didn't park outside their time limit. Intriguing. I would have guessed they ...

Thanks for posting the Anne Anderson illustration. It really took me back to the pictures in the books I used to read at my grandparents house an awfully long time ago!

Re: Can anyone format a text for Kindle?
I think all Kindles can use the mobi format. The following link allows free online conversion of text to mobi:
http://ebook.online-convert.com/convert-to-mobi
I have not tried it myself. My Kindle 3 can also read PDFs.

Re: Cobbs Corner Roundabout
I just hope that the up and down ramps are sufficiently gentle that you don't ruin your suspension going over at a perfectly legal 30mph. From memory of the first exhibition concerning the improvements, which was a while ago now. The pedestrian crossings are intended to be stepless (for pedestrians...

Excuse my ignorance but not clear from the plans whether there is at last a crossing or lights to aid pedestrians crossing Newlands Park. This is a very difficult place top cross. They have started marking up for the crossing there. The plans state that: Signal junction completely redsigned to incu...

Newlands Park excitement
At about 07:45 today there was a smell of burning, and by 08:15 there were three enormous ambulances and some police cars congregating at the Homecroft Road junction. They stopped our younger daughter getting her car out for work; something she seemed not unhappy about ;-) About midday I had a discr...
