Re: Best Breakfast in Sydenham
The cafe in Mayow Park is good but a little pricey compared to a regular greasy spoon. The quality is good though. It does get very busy so getting there early helps.

Re: Sainsbury's Bell Green
Has anyone else noticed an increase in the number of people begging outside Sainsburys? Every time I go at the moment I am also approached in the car park by people asking for money. It is a little disconcerting at times, especially when it’s dark.

Re: Power cuts
We had 3 more power cuts last night. Anyone rlse affected? So annoying. Apparently it was to do with the sub station in the Fairlawn Park area.

Re stock:
I have also noticed empty shelves and reduced choice at Sainsburys but had been wondering if I was imagining things.
Re rats:
I always spot them when I am walking near the flats and yes they are huge; rats on steroids!

Re: Travellers in Girton Road car park
There is a small group parked up in the Bell Green retail park car park in front of the former Toys R Us store. I think 2 caravans and 2 or 3 camper van/mobile home vehicles. Apparently they arrived last night.
Re: Kennel
How local do you want it to be? I know someone in Bexley who does home boarding for dogs. PM me if you are interested.

JRW - It seems we did as well. I looked online to see if anything was reported but nothing.

Power cuts
Has anyone else experienced power cuts recently? We’ve had 2 in the past week - last Friday morning and again this evening. We are in lower Sydenham.

Re: Fox in house
I think the local vixen used to use our garden as a creche; one summer she had about 6 cubs with her bouncing around all over the place. While they looked cute we didn’t feed them and actively discouraged them. I did a bit of fox proofing having researched various methods which definitely cut down o...

Re: Boarded up shop near Costcutters
I remember when it was a Thai restaurant. In those days (early 90s) we were lucky enough to have 2 brilliant Thai restaurants in the area; there was also one on Dartmouth Road. The one on Dartmouth Road was turned into a Mexican place I think. Anyone else remember this?

Did Bottle Cave open yet? I was in the East Dulwich one last weekend and the guy said it would open on Tuesday. Just driven down the high street and the shutters are down though.

I contacted the planning officer about this. Apparently the footway will be repaired once the building works are all completed.
Thanks Prince. That is good to hear.

I am in total agreement about our road sweepers. In fact, if I can find out how to do it now you can’t email the environment team directly, I will let the council know.

Re: food waste collection
Hurray! The food waste was collected yesterday. I haven’t had any response to my 2 complaints other than an automated reply. Thanks for the email Thorno. I’ll keep it for future. We had our 2nd fortnightly black bin collection this week. I was initially resistant to the idea of fortnightly collectio...
