I walked past the Duke this morning and found that there is wooden boarding around the site. This might suggest that the bulldozers are coming - but who knows? But if anyone is interested in seeing one of the very few 19th century buildings left on Wells Park Road I would suggest they take a look no...

Cheers for this Falkor - I've appreciated the chance to look at the many old photos (often posted by you) on this site, and I'll make sure to look at your new site every so often - could you flag up here when you've made any significant changes to it? I'm fairly new to the area but have really enjoy...

Farmers markets
Does anyone know of any good farmers markets in the area? I know that there is one at Dulwich College one Sunday in every month, though I don't know which Sunday, but has anyone been and can report back? I did go to one in Blackheath a few months ago but that is a bit out of the way. Are there any o...

Estate agents
You might be aware that Foxtons will shortly be opening a branch in Dulwich (on Lordship Lane). Yesterday I got a letter offering me 0% commission if I was to use them to sell my property - I think they are doing this largely to get some local properties on their books. I don't think there are any n...

Group hug everyone? I for one am rather surprised at just how much powers the owners seem to have to knock down the Greyhound now that its closed. Whilst I'm a bit sceptical as to what good the petition will do we don't have many other options left when it comes to influencing the future of the site...

I have to say that I'm still not happy about the Greyhound closing - it is after all a historic site in a key location, and I'm sure that there are many publicans out there more than capable of refurbished it sympathetically and ensuring that they get a good return on their investment. That said the...

Falkor - thanks for this - do you (or does anyone else) know about that part of Sydenham SE26, closest to Dulwich, and is part of the London Borough of Southwark, rather than of Lewisham - was it included in the parish boundaries of St Barts or was it included in the boundaries of St Stephens South ...

Well lets hope that the Milford Group do engage constructively with the people of Sydenham (e.g. on this website, or at a public meeting), Lewisham Council and the Sydenham Society. I would certainly not like the slow revival of Sydenham high street to be stymied by the boarding up of the Greyhound,...

This subject has been discussed extensively on the forum in recent months, so I would suggest (if you haven't already done so) trawling through past threads. The Forest Hill forum has also had a number of similar discussions, so well worth looking there too. If you want to bounce ideas around then I...
