brass band

A bit late now but there is a brass band playing at the Lennard road end of Alexander Park. Sounds good from my window.

A minor hiccup. Personally I think you are an unsung hero. We should all be grateful to you for keeping this forum going; I know I would'nt have the time or the patience.

There are, I believe, two scrap metal dealers in the area. One is in Green lane in Penge, by the railway bridge, and the other is in Kangley bridge road opposite "The Bridge" leisure centre.

I believe the picture shows where the bridge crossed Forest hill road at the junction of Wood vale and Brenchley gardens. the gradient of the road looks the same as if coming up from Peckham Rye. Where the bridge buttress and embankment are located is now a council estate on Wood vale.

Well, it's been done and to be truthfull it still has some branches with foliage and retained some symmetry. However I still believe that unless there was a representative from the council to monitor the pruning then we would have been left with nothing more than a trunk with a few stubs protruding ...

Hello Willy,. this is Martin at 31. About two weeks ago I came home about 7.00 am and found two lads about to scale a ladder leaning on the tree outside my house. The tree had orange marker cones around it and the area had been taped off. I asked them what was going on and one of them replied that t...

The small garage Brian is referring to was originally a Ford main dealership called Dagenham Motors which met it's demise around 1971. It was then vacant until 1973-4 when Volkspares took on the site.

Football was played regularly with about four pitches and during the summer cricket was very popular on sundays attracting big crowds around the boundary. There used to be a pavillion on the side of the path that ran parallel with cator ...

Hi Neil, I can't remember the exact location but I think it was nearer the footpath. If you look on 192.com you will see a different set of lines in the same area so I think it is inconclusive, possibly seasonal?
