According to the Virtual Norwood website a large area was affected. [link]
The EDF phoneline said parts of Anerley, Penge, Sydenahm, Beckenham and South Norwood lost power due to problem with underground cable.
Some areas had to wait until 7:30pm to get electricity turned on.

when I look at a current map; Sydenham station, Lower Sydenham station and what was Upper Sydenham station all fall within the SE26 postcode.
