I saw another car burnt out near Alexandra Rec this morning, near the allotments. One of the neighbours said he heard it happened last night at around midnight.

Yes, I'd like an answer to that too. Do we need to ring Steve Knott individually, or will he be happy to post a response here?

I've used that surgery for four years now and have had two children in that time, and although the surgery itself is grim and the hours/appointment management better suited to OAPs, stay-at-home parents and the unemployed, I've found the antenatal care there far better than that reported by my frien...

You know, the actual mix on the high street isn't necessarily bad. What could stand to be improved is the aspirations of the businesses themselves. For example, I think every high street could do with a decent chippie, but ours is pretty indecent. I feel like the owner and his/her staff should be se...

I popped into Sugarhill on Saturday for a panini and cappuccino. The panini was good and the coffee a little below par (but then I'm a coffee geek and quite particular). It would be nice to see a few more homemade cakes and sweets - I've had a craving for lemon drizzle cakes lately and no-one locall...

That's funny Falkor, I recently had a takeaway from Viva Goa and was quite happy with it. Mind you, I stuck to the Goan dishes, which had lots of complex sweet/sour flavours and where the curry leaves seemed appropriate. The vindaloo was hot of course, but it was also wonderfully sour and had some c...

I've been back for my fourth visit since Blue Mountain opened and things are continuing to settle down. My cafe latte arrived in a different (and more appropriately shaped) mug yesterday than it did on opening day, and everyone around me was tucking into some very attractive lunch plates. One of the...

I went this morning, and it was very busy in spite of a kitchen problem leaving them unable to serve hot food. I was one of the rather incredible number of mums who parked up the pushchair and settled in for a round of frothy coffee and a pastry. Verdict: it's fine as a cafe, and my God am I ever ha...

Falkor, I think your "death touch" is the result of the chilli getting incorporated into the oils in the dish, which means that the heat builds up slowly as you eat. Fresh chillies tend to give a quick hit as soon as they hit your tongue (and if the seeds have been left in they get hotter ...

Has anyone else had a flyer from the new Bombay Brasserie in East Dulwich? It's a little confusing, as it seems to suggest they're not delivering to Sydenham yet they're pushing menus through letter boxes here.

Well, I'm on Tannsfeld but I don't have a basement, so haven't seen any signs of flooding so far. Cator Park has looked okay as well when I've walked by this week, although it was looking a bit waterlogged last week during the worst of the deluge.

What's the best way to register support for the LDA's plans for Crystal Palace Park? I'm really keen on the plans that have been coming through the post, and am now worried that everything could be scuppered.
