Great news Mr Gerrard - I'm looking forward to seeing initial plans. IMHO the Greyhound site is the key to the regeneration of Sydenham. A restored pub together with some high quality housing will bring new life into the town centre and continue the uplift started by Blue Mountain, Sugahill, Floorzo...

stone-penge, are you in Bromley or Lewisham? Not being parochial here, Sydenham extends to somewhere near Penge East station... is the council talking about a controlled parking zone/residents parking?

If I'm not mistaken, two former swimming champions were born and grew up in Sydenham / Forest Hill - Linda Ludgrove and Zara Long. Linda Ludgrove's record below is taken from Wikipedia: Linda Ludgrove was an English backstroke swimmer (born September 3, 1947). Raised in Sydenham, Linda won individua...

Draughtbusters are basically a small joinery company who make wooden windows and re-furbish (and draught-proof) existing ones. They make and fit the windows and don't go in for high-pressure selling (I reaise I'm beginning to sound like their sales rep - which I'm not, honest!) When my neighbours us...

Karters windows look beautiful - but it looks as though they are based in Essex. Nearer to home is Draughtbusters in Forest Hill who are excellent -their no is 8291 2800. They've done a lot of work in the Thorpes.

I haven't heard any rumours about a paid parking scheme, but there is work going on associated with the upgrade of the station - introduction of barriers for Oyster cards etc. Since there is no paid-for parking at the moment in Sydenham, paid-for parking on Station Approach would be unusual. Only yo...

A high quality residential scheme would help to sort out the problems associated with the car park - and would probably be helpful to the neighbours at the back and opposite. The Three Tuns in Beckenham (which was a pretty dodgy pub previously) could be a model for the developer. In that scheme the ...
