Squatters?

Does anyone know the situation with the group of East Europeans who seem to have taken up residence at the old Quaker hall in Queensthorpe Road? They seem to have appeared overnight!

Re: Car Service/MOT

What a shame about Alan Hill's . I had a problem with my power steering recently and tried to call Alan Hills . When I got no response ( highly unusual ) I had a horrible feeling he had gone . I used his garage for 20 years and was always happy with his service - professional , fair priced and trus...

Can anyone recommend a local trustworthy, reliable mechanic/garage who can carry out my car service and MOT? I used to taken my car to Alan Hill Motors in Crystal Palace but he was forced to vacate his premises - after 40+ years!

Thanks

The show covered South East London including Sydenham, Crystal Palace, Beckenham, and East Dulwich - really good to see Sydenham portrayed very positively
Agreed! It was very positive and lovely to see.

Re: Speed Camera Westwood Hill - Which speed???

The daftest markings for 20mph has to be at the start of Recreation Road, the cul de sac that leads into Mayow Park. The road is 8 houses long. I'd be hard pushed to get to 20mph after turning the corner without doing an emergency stop before hitting the gates. Waste of money putting it there. Ditt...

Re: Speed Camera Westwood Hill - Which speed???

On a related note; I was going to start another thread about the random 20 mph road markings that are springing up. We have one here at the end of Knighton Park Road notifying the residents of four houses that they are entering a 20 mph zone, but there is not one at the start of the road at Sydenha...

Re: Local security alarm company

Thanks for the recommendation Mayowthorpe. Ironically, I did get a quote from them a little while ago after running through my requirements but after leaving my property, they then sent me a quote advising me that they would not replace my current system for another wired one (because of issues with...

Re: Builder (or an appropriate contractor) recommendation pl

Hi Ronski

I sort of did. I ended up getting someone who is "a friend of a friend of a friend" who said that what I had previously been told was hogwash (to put it politely) and it was just a ventilation issue! He does seem to be right.!

Builder (or an appropriate contractor) recommendation please

Can anyone recommend a builder or appropriate person to deal with a damp/mould patch in a room, which is caused by water pooling by an external wall? I'll need to get the works done sharpish!

Thanks

I too thoroughly recommend James Hayden as well. He also works on a Sunday!

In fact I also recommend LMS Gas Services as well (although they can be a bit hit and miss on returning messages!)
