it is good that large corporations are seeing the potential of the area Subway is a franchise - pretty much anyone can open one up anywhere. I've used Subway only a handful of times in my life, but at least the shop will look smarter and be of more use than an outlet for hotel slippers and out-of-d...

Agreed, which is why it's such a shame they're having a go at running our banking sector. And getting mugged.

Guys, It looks like you have ten without me - if so, I'm going to give this week a miss - the sh*t has hit the fan at work today and I could do with staying late to tidy some of it up. If you need me for a game, I wouldn't want to let you down and should be able to make my excuses here and leave on ...

Lee, I know you are very busy man, but have you considered one for Gurkhas. They do a roaring trade but it could look so much better inside and out. I noticed a Nepalese restaurant in CP which looked very stylish. Gurkhas turns away tens of people on a weekend; the appearance of the restaurant does...

Have you tried giving some constructive feedback to the business owners concerned? Speaking to the people directly able to influence the situation will likely be more effective than posting on a forum which they may not frequent.

Personally I don't care what name is chosen, as long as the spelling is correct. I'm much more concerned about giving the place a spring clean and a lick of paint.

As part of the pro-improvements campaign, I've contacted several people at the council, one of whom is our Town Centre Manager, Julie Sutch. I've asked her how securing the go-ahead for the plans would affect her strategy and approach when managing Sydenham "town centre". I haven't heard b...

Public transport is no competition to the car...? Its all according to the way you look at it. Throw in bikes and your legs [if you still have use of them]...And this is a no-brainer from a number of angles. I do cycle to work every day and also walk whenever my destination is within 30 mins' walk....

Oh, that's a shame, I'd just last week bought a joint of beef from them for a Sunday roast. The reasons it took me so long to actually get myself in there and spend some money have already been highlighted by Juwlz.

We did try to live without a car and managed a whole year before caving in. Public transport in SE26 might well be brilliant by national standards, but it's still no competition for a car.

Re: Vote to oppose Sydenham Road improvements is not recogni

I am fed up with all the road humps Me too - this scheme doesn't contain any though. There are very shallow inclines (1 in 25) to take the road up to pavement level at pedestrian crossing points. These are nothing like speed bumps. the traffic jams (surely road widening, not narrowing, is called fo...

Your High Street Needs You... to deliver some leaflets!
