I remember going to the Crystal Palace ski slope. Probably about 10 years ago now. It's a shame in a way that it closed but it wasn't very challenging! The Bromley one is okay

Has anyone noticed how the CCTV camera across the road is often trained on these benches? Yet, despite the alleged anti social behaviour I'm not aware of any serious crimes being committed on the benches!

Zucker was nice but just a bit TOO cramped at times. Hopefully there will be more space in new Blue Mountain cafe. I've never been to the one in East Dulwich but when chatting with a friend yesterday she said it's OKAY but that the food can be hit and miss. Anyone else experienced that?

Maybe the pedestrian crossing on the brow of the hill should have lights. I know when I cross there I am always nervous as one side of traffic may stop but the other side hasn't seen that someone is crossing. I know that in the accident the woman wasn't at the crossing and I know that I have crossed...

Clapham High Street has had loads of really nice restaurants and bars for as long as I can remember which is at least 20 years!!!! I hope that Sydenham does become more like Clapham. I used to think I wanted it to be like Crystal Palace for bars and restaurants and stuff but going through Crystal Pa...

I agree it is hard to stick to 30 coming down Westwood Hill but easier when doing it in 3rd gear which slows you down. Whether or not your caught speeding depends on the speed the camera is set on. A few years ago I heard of a camera on one of the bridges in West London being set significantly highe...

It would be nice for us drivers to think there is such a guideline but I think it's more of an urban myth.

We had ours fitted by a guy called Gary - I can't find his card with phone number and full details on. Very efficient. He was suggested to me by the guy at the plumbers shop on Kirkdale (opposite the petrol station)

No use to you I know BUT there used to be a fab Italian in Catford a few years ago (Cantina I think it was called) the did the BEST cheesecake ever. In fact people used to go specifically to eat the cheesecake there. I don't think it was open for long.

I used to go a lot when it was the Meze place but regret that now in a way as although it was cheaper than The Lokal and some of the food was better in my opinion, the atmosphere at The Lokal was much better. Although I did like the fact that lots of Turkish people ate at the meze place. We now go t...

Surely all retailers try to pay the least for their products to maximise their profits? The difference in this case is that we don't usually see where the retailer is buying the produce from. I've been in plenty of cafes and restaurants even and seen that they've used the cheapest of cheap own brand...

My mum sprained her wrist on a bus when driver took off suddenly and bus was jerky. I can't remember the last bus I took which slowed down and stopped and then set off again smoothly. Have you ever taken the night bus back from town? I think you need travel insurance to use it!!! Is there really a l...

I'm amazed it was even reported! LOADS of things go on round here that never make it to the news. Anyone remember the murder by shooting on Silverdale back in 1998 I think it was? I saw a machete attack on the high street a few years ago. The High Street has been blocked off for several "incide...

I know someone who is on a street being piloted. It's like when the recycling boxes appeared and nobody knew what you could put in them and then when they were able to accept plastics in the recycling boxes but didn't tell us! Great link paget.

I think the new bus lane makes the road really dangerous although as it is a busy road and loads of buses go along I suppose it must be helping the traffic (not seen eveidence of that myself mind!)

I shall now travel along the bus lane when the traffic is backed up along Kirkdale.

Although I don't particularly like big retail developments I think having something like that there may actually help that particular part of Sydenham. The shops there may start to get the passing trade they don't get at the moment.

I wondered about that as I'd seen For Sale signs. It's such a shame. I've always liked the fact that it was there and the staff have always been really friendly and helpful - things like at Christmas, taking my cards for posting when they're shut!
