Re: "White Tiger" kittens

Bengals are attractive, but they tend to have leopard rather than tiger markings. At one time we wondered about getting a Savannah, but the attractive ones are the F1 hybrids and are classed as dangerous animals. What such a beast would make of the bull terriers which abound in Sydenham is an intere...

Re: "White Tiger" kittens

Hill Dweller: We tried the vets. It appears that unless the kittens had an appointment with a vet, rather than a nurse or 'just passing through', there would be no record of them, and there was no record. BBW: We have checked out Toygers, most particularly the four UK breeders who are trying to achi...

"White Tiger" kittens

On 11th December last year I was at the Mayow Road Vet's to collect Percy the cat. Whist I was in the waiting room there was also present a gentleman with a carrying cage containing two kittens with unusual mackerel tabby markings such that they looked like small white tigers. I thought that they we...

Re: Planning application for Money Shop at 59 Sydenham Road

Tim beat me to it! I had logged in to the forum to report the receipt of the council 'refusal' letter. The Money Shop was nothing that I looked forward to.

Re: Have aliens ever landed in Baxter Fields?

I was chatting to an alien the other day and he assured me that they had never landed anywhere near Baxter Fields. I think some more mundane explanation is needed.

The Two Half's

I heard a rumour this evening that the Two Half's was to close. Anybody got any further information about this?

Re: Street drinkers and heroin users

 And Chris - go stand in the corner for the irregular use of the letter Z! For many years I struggled to maintain traditional English usage; I never split infinitives, was conscientious in the application of the apostrophe, and avoided Americanisms. It was a struggle. Then my wife and a daugh...

As originally posted, before admin sanitized it, there was a word present which was NOT directly from the Bible

Re: Sydenham Town's Brand New Site!

I hate all change, but apart from that it looks good ;-) One small low-priority niggle. Previously if I selected a topic from the RSS feed it would subsequently appear with a changed blue icon. I used this as a bookmark to see what new posts had appeared. No icon change from the new site. I am using...

:) I agree with Willy. The kevlar in armoured clothing would be difficult to get a knife through, and reinforced boots and gloves can be excellent offensive weapons!

I am looking forward to traveling away from London. The prospect of being able to get to West Croydon, and the Whitgift Centre, by a service so regular that one doesn't need to check on the train times first is an attractive one.

The sleek and attractive rat I once saw in our compost bin has now been transformed into a group of nasty, thuggish (though presumably still vegetarian) rats living beneath it. I have declared war, dusted off the old air rifle, and spent the evening waiting by the ... er ... rat run near the bin. No...

We have a rat which appears to live under our compost bin at the end of the garden. It appears fairly young, with a sleek light brown coat and is actually quite an attractive looking creature. Also obviously a vegetarian. I used to enjoy ratting with a .22 rifle when I lived on a farm many years ago...
