Re: Crystal Palace Park development plans
I wouldn't bet on still being around to actually see any of this... see previous posts - heads in the sand, fingers in ears, 'NO, NO, NO - our way or not at all' mentality.Tinksqueak wrote:I wondered if anyone knows what timescale they're working to

It's pi$$ed me off too. OK utility companies, so you've got to dig the roads up, there's no getting away from that. BUT... rather than shutting off half the bloody road and causing chaos while you're not doing anything (i.e., between the hours of 5pm and 8 am and all day Saturday and Sunday), what's...

It looks like the place would appeal to younger professionals who like the large pubs with high ceilings like the Westow Hill in Crystal Palace, but the kind of people who drink in there now are used to smaller pubs like The Woodman, Fox etc, and therefore it is too big and its relatively more expe...

Give me a few weeks to get over a whiplash injury and I might give it a go. My back's a mess at the moment, my knees are shot and pace/skill were never there so I can't have lost it but if you want someone to fly/trot/crawl up the left wing and chuck crosses in (before chucking up) I'm your man. (p....

I hope most carriers don't make the switch from the normal more 'waspish' planes that follow Sydenham Road on their landing approach to this model. Better get some earplugs and an industrial sized fly swatter - BA are going to start/have started using similar sized planes (A318) daily from London C...

I'm not a big fan of TVs in pubs - they're really distracting; although I'm a bit of a hypocrite because I'll watch my favourite team if their on. But, still, I think they're a pain for those that aren't interested - and they can spoil the atmosphere. Each to their own. I'm not a fan of pubs that c...

There's a pub called the Hob in Forest Hill and a pub called the Alma in Crystal Palace which are exactly the sort of pub the Greyhound should be. Comedy nights, live bands, screens for sports... perfect contrast to the Dolphin at the other end of the high street. People who don't particularly like ...

Your ideas are great and immediately reminded me of the Hob in FH (although I'm not aware that they do great food in there also!). I'd love to see a pub here that regularly showed live bands (new acts, not just tribute singers etc), stand-ups, quiz nights, pool competitions and so on. The Hob is a ...
