Re: Anyone recommend a plumber?

I want to recommend Anthony. He's awesome. Thanks, Anthony.

The inaccurate spelling of manner also made me smile.

Re: Moving to Sydenham

Hello - welcome! Billings on the high street is a proper butcher and fishmonger and it's brilliant. And for a gym with a pool you either have the Bridge leisure centre and Forest Hill Pools. I would strongly recommend the latter - it's been newly refurbished and it's great. But if you get a Lewisham...

That's amore

Can I just give an enthusiastic recommendation for That's amore on Kirkdale? We absolutely love this place, and have their take-away pasta at least once a week - only £6 for a generous portion of delicious freshly cooked pasta is much better value than takeaway pizza or fish and chips! Eating in the...

Re: Sydenham Police raid nets drugs & firearm ...

Great news and well done who informed The Police. Regretably I expect he will be out in a couple of days. I hope I am wrong. He'll get 5 years for the gun Eagle, may be a bit on top for the drugs, he'll receive no actual help inside and get rubber stamped and dumped out on to the streets to an awai...

Re: SEE3 and Sydenham Town Forum

Lee has done a pretty good job defending himself, so I won't add to that. But I think it's clear that foresthillresident made a completely unfounded, defamatory accusation and an apology is the very least that Lee is owed.

Re: Fouling dogs

I agree with those who are asking what's wrong with putting bagged dog poo in a wheelie bin. Surely that's what bins are there for? In my street there isn't a bin per house, we all use each others' - I don't understand why people get precious about what's put in their bin! It's just on the street, n...

Re: Portas Pilot SEE3 ideas

I am really starting to get depressed by this kind of thread. The Portas Pilot is happening, there are some capable people working on it. They need a lot of support and enthusiasm from us as the community to ensure that it delivers what it has the potential to deliver. Enough of the snide comments, ...

You jest, surely? If in doubt, have a look at the photo here:

Re: Cobbs Corner Roundabout

As we pass into this golden future I feel we should reflect on the horror that was the wonky roundabout at Cobbs Corner. To paraphrase a well know phrase or saying , if a 1000 monkeys did an NVQ in procurement and got jobs with LB Lewisham , that roundabout would be the result . [ Post made via Mob...

Re: Does anyone else struggle with Wells Park Doctors?

I've been with Wells park for just over a year. I pretty much always book appointments well in advance - about 3 weeks - for routine stuff. This morning for the first time I needed an on-the-day appointment. Rang from 8am, got through and have an appointment this morning. I think they're generally p...

Re: insane changes to planning law

Conversely, I think this move is more "in touch with real life" than most Government decisions. In real life we desperately need lots more housing. "Real people" need homes they can afford to buy and rent. It's rational for people who already own homes to be incentivised to oppos...

Re: GREYHOUND WALL ART: WE NEED YOUR IMAGES

I agree that images of the crystal palace should included. The crystal palace transmitters loom over sydenham - it's a major element of the geography and history of the area, even if it's not technically in sydenham itself.
