Re: Portas Pilot SEE3 ideas
So when did JP get promoted to admin/mod then? You can't make this sort of demand on an open forum about what appears to me to be, from the outside looking in, an emotive subject. people usually complain because they want to see the right sorts of things happen, it's what happens with most projects...

Re: Portas Pilot SEE3 ideas
I am really starting to get depressed by this kind of thread. The Portas Pilot is happening, there are some capable people working on it. They need a lot of support and enthusiasm from us as the community to ensure that it delivers what it has the potential to deliver. Enough of the snide comments,...

Re: Stolen Van this morning
Sorry to hear about the van Lee - what a blow :( Also, terrifying to know that people are ruthless enough to just wander into your home when you are there. Reminds me of one of the times we were burgled when I lived in Herne Hill for a few years in the 80s - on this particular occasion myself and my...

maybe rather dismissing a new shop straight away and complain to the authorities, why not work with them rather against them, why cant the sydenham society or local counciler pay them a visit, explain the situation to them, let them know what kind of help and grants are out there, what the locals e...

Re: Moving to East Penge
There is a topic on Virtual Norwood which follows the deliberations of Lucy, following her thoughts of moving to Penge, and finally moving to the area and loving the place. Have a look if you have a moment :) There are some potentially useful opinions about the area, particularly on Page 3 I think: h...

Re: Help Shape the NHS in Lewisham & Penge
The NHS database was a disaster, I am reassured by my medical records not flying off to all and sundry.
You clearly have a beef about the BMA, but the privatisation issue is one that concerns many - not just some GPs.

Re: Help Shape the NHS in Lewisham & Penge
Heh, the fact that gps are already highly-paid private sector contractors seems to pass people by, in the debate about whether these reforms amount to the 'privatisation' of the nhs. But never let the facts get in the way of a good debate.... [ Post made via Mobile Device ] http://sydenham.org.uk/m...

Tim/Annie,
Roll your sleeves up and get up there then
I still think the offer of light refreshment for unpaid manual labour on behalf of a private business is not unreasonable and might gain a better response - more than happy to differ on that.

Re: The two half's is under offer
I shop in Waitrose a fair bit, I also shop in Poundland. It would be great to have some more choice locally, you can get plenty of cheap stuff in the area - Waitrose provides extra stuff for people who might want it, I know I do. Virtually zero chance locally at the moment sadly - nail bars seem to ...
