Re: Parking problems

I work in a highways department of another london borough, and if someone wants a dropped kerb/vehicle crossover they have to apply for one, then there is a site inspection to see if it's viable. if so, one is then built. viability is dependent on several factors - do you have room on your private l...

Re: Dishwasher folly!

it's always difficult to compare a washing up bowl to a dishwasher, in economy, etc. clearly, many years ago, DW were expensive to buy, not that economical, or environmentally friendly. nowadays they're much better. They do use a vast amount less of water than a bowl for washing up. given the 'cost'...

Re: Anyone ever bought from LDSM cars at Bell Green?

like most small/medium car related companies, they do go by several different names, but that's not necessarily anything to worry about. we did have to wait a few extra days as it was in for the MOT (after we'd bought it). The previous purchase date, was exactly a year before we bought it, and the p...

I've had mine done at Decathlon before now - they're just a short walk from Canada Water station.

Re: Parking problems

how about some station/commuter parking in the Bell Green Retail park?
walk from there to Lower Syd, or a bus to Sydenham, Catford or Penge Stations.

I guess people are just either lazy, or want free parking.

Re: Parking problems

... I can tell you that the ONLY space ever available near me is the designated disabled bay which nobody ever parks in.... Is this space on the main road? as part of shopping parking spaces? Is it a single disabled space outside someones house in a residential road? Have you watched it 24/7/52 - c...

Re: 'Legible London' sign outside Palace Wines

in my opinion it should be either TFL or Lewisham who fund the fix. it's their sign, they put it in, it's on the public highway, they should have secured funding somewhere for maintenance. the fact that they didn't is irrelevant. they should be made to find funds from somewhere else. £600 in the gra...

Re: Sydenham Beer Rebellion is here to stay

I apologise - I went out with a couple of people from work, with the full intention of having one and then making my way to Beer Rebellion, however after 6 drinks, at 10.30 I realised this wasn't likely so went straight home.
I have a very sore head today!

Re: vote for the best coffee in Sydenham

Rod, I don't know most of these places well enough to rate the standard of the coffee, as I usually go to the cafe in Mayow Park, and have a chai latte (though maybe not now, after seeing the amount of sugar that might be in it) - previously I've rated Blue Mountain as rather good. rather intriguing...

If all of Maria's friends contributed, the tone would soon change, and they'd get others involved by word of mouth. however I fear that internet forums are on the decline due to a lot of similar stuff happening on Facebook. There are many and varied local groups on Facebook already, that STF is most...

Re: The Bridge Leisure Centre

What times do you play badminton at The Bridge?
Is it a club, or just a group of friends?
I need to find somewhere more local than I currently play - The Bridge might be the answer, if there's a club there.

Re: backgammon?

I play - I use an app on my phone. I'd be up for a regular game if I had time free, which I don't. when the boy is maybe a year older this might become something to do on a Sunday afternoon for an hour or so in a pub. might possibly be able to manage once every other month at the moment. it's the ki...
