I think its pretty typical of our politics, that we don't really have a clue about what is going on at the moment. Don't you think we should know what the negotiations are? Shouldn't we know what trade-offs are being offered? The Tories are desperate for power, and would give anything to be in numbe...

Vote Conservative for Change! Let's try something really radical, like having a couple of old Etonians running the country - there's real change for you. The problem is that too many people believe the crap put about by the media, primarily the newspapers - most of which are owned by strange megalom...
I finally managed to speak to someone in India, who was both helpful, and knew what they were talking about. I told them that I knew there had been widespread problems in the Sydenham area, and he knew/agreed. He arranged for a new router to be despatched - a Home Hub 2.0 - and (cross fingers) it is...

I've been away for a week, and come back to no internet - only on line now, thanks to the kindliness of a neighbour allowing me to use their wireless. Been on the phone to BT all day, and they reckon its working, but it isnt. Been swapping filters, calling India on an hourly basis, turn the Router o...
I got an email from BT, which was addressed to an email address that I give out to all the retailers of the world - which I rarely check - advising of the upgrade, and also offering a new piece of kit, for free (which they would normally charge for!) which will help with my broadband. It sounds simi...

Thanks Lee We're Mac too, on an Airport Express wireless network. Weirdly enough, if we switch from Safari (which is generally rubbish anyway) to Firefox, then it starts to work for a while, then goes dead slow again. Switch back to Safari, and it will work again. We are with BT, but Im sure they al...
Broadband
Has the local broadband been patchy lately?
Sometimes everything works smoothly, and other times pages take an age to download, or don't download at all.
I keep getting the message about the server not responding, although the signal indicator on the mac, shows full strength.

We had a look around today, and there are surprisingly few places actually vacant on Sydenham Road. The HSBC looks favourite, but there isnt a board outside anymore, so I'm not certain whether its gone or not. The old blind shop (from memory) is also quite suited to our requirements, but again, you ...

Again, thanks for the continued input. HSBC was an option (although the To Let signs have disappeared, and it would need a hell of a lot of internal work). The reason that we are looking at pizzas - as opposed to other types of cuisine - is that I we know people who really 'know' pizza, and also bec...

Thanks for the feedback so far - keep it coming. The idea is to base the whole menu around the 'proper' Roman pizzas - very thin, and very big - not Pizza Express style (although I do like Pizza Express - I'm not knocking them). It would be predominantly 'sit down' although you need to offer a takea...

I would really appreciate feedback from the good people of STF. Some time back, I really wanted to take a lease on the old pine shop (now Blue Mountain) with the intention of opening a pizza restaurant. Unfortunately, it was too expensive. I am still looking at a number of sites, including Sydenham ...

I dont know where you get one from Tony - but a word of warning - if possible, change the locking wheel nut for another, otherwise someone will be back for the wheels themselves. My car was done in Sydenham, some years back. The locking nut 'key' went first, and then they came back and stripped it. ...
