I buy an Oyster, but use it as a monthly Zones 1-3 ticket, and it works pretty well. What I find ridiculous, is that it ran out one day before I was taking a holiday, so I thought it would be the easiest thing to add one extra day of travel on to it. Do you think you can do that? Of course you can't...

What I find frightening, is the way the media seem to be deciding who becomes the next PM. Look at any picture of Gordon Brown which appears in the press - particularly those publications to the right (about 95% of them) - and they will ALWAYS print a picture of him looking in some way distressed, w...

It really was the saddest looking ski slope (I use the term loosely) I have ever seen.

Probably goes some way to explaining why Sydenham has never produced a world class downhill skier.

Looked like two trains on the line between Brockley and Forest Hill, so the first stop was Sydenham.

The weird thing was that there were no announcements either at London Bridge, or on the train, so there were lots of disgruntled Brocklians and Honor Oak Parkians.

I hate Subway. Life's too short to 'hate' a sandwich shop - get a grip. As for something being described as 'Chavvy', would you be referring to someone - you consider - has less money or 'taste' than yourselves? You must be so sophisticated - does one dine on blinis with caviare and champagne? What...

I've had a couple of Subways in my time, and actually found them to be okay.

BBW hit the problem on the head; I then found out that some of their sandwiches have over 4g of salt in them (equivalent to 9 bags of crisps) and haven't been back since.

'Some time next year' was the response to my question of 'When?'

Andy I've been taking my boy to football on a Saturday morning at JAGS Sports Club, which is on Red Post Hill, through Dulwich Village. Starts at about 9-00 and finishes at 10-30. They have between 50-100 kids turn up, and they have either 3 or 4 games - after a warm up/mess about. Danny runs it, an...

Oyster

I tried to renew my monthly Oyster at Sydenham this morning, only to be told 'we don't do Oyster'.

Welcome to a new era for Sydenham station, with TfL firmly in control.

I actually had to buy a single to London Bridge, and renew my card there!

Everything that has been built close to the roundabout on Kirkdale - especially the flats on Dartmouth Road, and the flats that Steve has taken the picture of - looks like a gerry-built (can we still use that term?) eyesore. Even the flats over the Tesco Express (the best of a bad bunch) are about a...

Hi Chazza

I dont know anyone in Sydenham, but for all things glass related, I go to a glaziers in Peckham, at the bottom of Heaton Road. They have always cut glass for me - and can usually recommend someone to do the actual fitting.

Incident near The Bridge pub

Anyone know what was happening at the end of Thicket Road, near the entrance to the park this morning? There was police tape all over the place, and Mr Plod also seemed to be interviewing people.

The train actually seemed much cooler this morning on the way in, but the next time I see one of those 'Meet the Managers' things at London Bridge, I will have a chat with them.

You should generally find that there are more seats at the back of the train, so there's less of a scrum to get the remaining ones.

I catch the 0740 to London Bridge every morning; it is one of those new trains, with sealed windows and air con. I've noticed that the air con isnt normally turned on until New Cross Gate - in fact, this morning it wasnt turned on at all. Has anyone else noticed this? Are the train operators under i...
