The Vape shop wouldn't need change of use. There is nothing the council could do to stop them opening.butters wrote:All this for Nando's, yet a bloody Vape shop gets approved next to Tesco! And has anyone ever seen a customer in there? I haven't.

Are they allowing cycling on the pavement? If not it makes cycling even more dangerous.

Re: 2017 Decent Christmas Decorations in High Street?
Just throwing a few ideas out there: Kids rides for Christmas event in pocket park: https://www.poplarattractions.com/kids-rides/big-bus-ride/ Christmas Market hire: http://www.chaletevents.net/uses/christmas-markets/ Skanska are responsible for Farnham's Christmas lights, but they still managed to ...

New pocket park bench
Any thoughts on this new bench with it's attached advertising in the Talktalk/Sky/charity pocket square next to the Natwest? I think it looks…extremely odd! We worked on a scheme in North London alongside Steer Davis Gleeve in which they put the benches facing one another with planting behind so you...

Penge is full of street art, most of it's looks fab. It's even having tours of it with small groups of people to visit them on an art safari. The Catford Bridge stencils look great. If anyone wants to do anything like this, just do it. PLEASE! Doing it through official channels or councils is incred...

Just in case anyone wants to know what Mosy means by 'Green Dragon': https://sydenham.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2261&hilit=green+dragon+logo I remember you questing the identity and what would happen if it was adopted by Sainsbury's! I don't think St George's dragon is associated with...

As said many times I don't particular like Nero but it's a brand that would have attracted other brands like a M&S equal to business. I am Italian and there is not better coffea than Italy, apolgy for been arrogant here. I do support the locals like on the Hoof and Blue Mountain but the area ne...

Re: Sydenham too tatty for Caffe Nero
Councils get pots of money to spend on specific things, like high streets etc. They have to spend it on the intended purpose. They bid for the money and win it. It's not council tax. The High Street Fund/Outer London Fund was from the Mayor of Londons office, which came from a loan Boris took out wh...

Re: Sydenham too tatty for Caffe Nero
Again, what are you asking Lewisham to spend the money on in Sydenham? Our major problem is the Co-op store. Too big as a convenience store, too small as a supermarket. Who is best positioned to sort that - Lewisham or the landlord? Stuart They could revisit the pocket squares which are poorly desi...

Plus the choice of paving wasn't very good, the choice of benches wasn't very good, there were very few trees.

They do custom builds Stuart. But like most supermarkets, they aren't what you could describe as 'attractive'. The Aldi near Penge is custom.

I quite like Debris, like the antique places in Crystal Palace, Hastings, Rye etc. I wouldn't say it's junk, it's interesting old stuff that looks like it's been used.

Re: sticky: RUMOURS: CINEMA AND NANDOS COMING TO SYDENHAM
There is truth in that, but the same can be said of many other areas. Lewisham are focusing on Catford and Deptford rather than Sydenham. It's common for a council to suppress a bid for high street funding for Sydenham so other areas get it. Sometimes it's political. Sometimes it's just part of thei...
