Re: fatal stabbing in Wells Park Road.

This youth centre was a complete waste of money. In the beginning it was supposed to be for "the community". It could be used for exercise classes etc for the older and more obese of the community. The only thing for the older generation is film night. My son comes up on the 202 some evenin...

Scaffolding

I saw something on the TV the other day regarding some scaffolding on a block in Southwark which has been there for a considerable. Has anybody noticed an abundance of scaffold in Sydenham, particularly in Wells Park Road area. Don't they have anywhere to store it, as you very rarely see anyone work...

Re: WHAT IF no 23: LA TIENDA

What a wonderful shop, the owner is so nice polite and helpful. Shame we don't have more shops like this. It is abit hidden away but being next to both Lidl's and the bus stop is to there advantage. Keep going " La Tiienda" ( The Shop) in English

I think there used to be a factory on the site where the police building is. It was Wayne's that used to make petrol pumps.

Re: CRYSTAL PALACE PLANS TO BE UNVEILED

Just saw our Great Mayor plus the Chinese Gentlemen who are going to fund the project. It looks great , just like the original. Afterall if it is on the same area as the original , it is a brown field site. What a potential bonus for the area. Beats a new Tesco extra , or a revised Greyhound any da...

Re: CRYSTAL PALACE PLANS TO BE UNVEILED

If China have the money to do this which obviously we don't then let them do it, At the end f the day it would bring more people and more prosperity to the area !!

Re: Is the water park working at Wells Pk?

No cafe, toilets open when park keeper in attendance. Park is fantastic but somewhat abandoned. Need to have a park keeper there more often, specially in this warm weather. Don't know what time it closes but one evening last nigh jollifications until 10.30ish,then in the morning empty bottles lined ...

Re: Co-Op down

Tesco in Kirkdale is a pile of crap! Horrible stock, staff and cleanliness. Saying that Co-op is expensive, would rather use Waitrose at there prices. Some of the staff have been there since Safeway ! and are not very customer orientated, barring Antonette and Elaine, who is a real star !!!! :D Hope a...

I don't know the last time you visited but I think you will find it has changed an awful lot. I visited this area a lot between 1963 and 1969 I then came back in 1982 and my god it had changed so much, you wouldn't believe it. Good luck Tony

They closed down the Woodman which was a much nicer and more historic pub than the Windmill. Why save the Windmill ?

Re: Sydenham Assembly - Tuesday 4 June at the TNG

You wouldn't know as I don't think it has a sign outside. But it is the huge plastic looking building on the corner of Coombe Road and Wells Park Road, where the old church hall used to be. Another historic building, knocked down to build something for the youth of today !!

My children are past the school age. But how come you see children on the buses going to and from Penge, do some schools have catchment areas and others not ?
