Re: Is It Faster to Cycle or Take Public Transport?

Obviously a pretty open ended question HB! When I cycle there and back from work (twice a day) it averagely takes 20 mins for me each way by bike, by car I can often do the same journey in about 10 mins with the added bonus of keeping dry on a wet day. If the roads are bad (not too often on my parti...

Re: Police non-urgent 101

Was that the incident on Sydenham Road today? I got a garbled account from my 12 year-old who was stuck on a bus watching what seemed like a game of real-life dodgems. Must have been something (madness?) in the air today Rachael. My incident was in Welling where 2 lads on a motor scooter were causi...

Re: Lewisham Cyclists: Special Guest, Andrew Gilligan

Good pic HB, makes a good point. Noted the woman having to walk out into the road too! Wonder what signage or road works guarding was in use here, a pedestrian shouldn't end up in this dilema unless of course she ignored any warning/diversion signs not caught in pic. Also wonder just how com...

Re: Police non-urgent 101

Thanks Tim, Using 101 for non-urgent situations allows them to deal with real emergencies more efficiently. Used this today as a follow up after observing a road rage incident that I thought they should be made aware of even if just for their records. Good idea to seperate urgent 999 and non-urgent ...

Re: Sydenham under a new flight path?

In terms of the height they are flying over Sydenham, it can only be those aircraft on approach to LCY that appear to be low, as for separation reasons, they have to fly under the Heathrow approach (which is generally around 4,000ft over Sydenham). But they have to fly above a certain height to avo...

I must say I've only just hoisted on board that, unlike the other forums on this site, the Town Benefit Office is accessible only to those who are logged in, so not to casual visitors. I must say I wonder why that is thought to be necessary or desirable. Maybe Casual visitors are not entitled to be...
