Works are ongoing at the SH CH. Lewisham Council refused to sell it to L&Q as part of the 2010 Stock Transfer and since the TNG opened it has been closed, squatted etc.

I'll see what info I can procure

Re: Sydenham Cars SHOCKING

Uber have been very reliable for local trips, in my experience. I do like a black cab in London for an occasional treat, but they are expensive, you have to tip etc. With uber no cash changes hands which I like. It is well known black cabs don't like to venture south of the river at night. The old ...

Re: Celebrating Brexit.

@ Parkrunner and stuart: If the EU is adamant on insisting on "same rules as before" then they should be sent away with a flea in their ear the same as D Cameron was in February. You're right, "same rules" is not why I voted Leave. If our government after September agrees such, ...

Re: Where is the Sydenham Gap?

'Cols and Passes of the British Isles' by Graham Robb mentions the Sydenham Gap, and I wondering if anyone has a clue to what he is referring. A col, or gap, is the low point between 2 (significant) hills. I guess the Sydenham Gap would have been on an ancient path way too for it to merit a mention...

The EU is accountable though. People are replaced/sacked/voted out etc. Where do you get your information from? More info to follow about the multiple layers of EU bureaucracy when time permits. Mostly people appointing people in their own image ... http://ec.europa.eu/about/index_en.htm But we lov...

My view on Brexit - It's great news! The turmoil people have said has not arrived, the markets are functioning well, the Banks are well capitalised, and companies and jobs are not leaving the UK. Whatever your personal views they are all valid - just as the pro Brexiteers - but please think of an a...

Re: Celebrating Brexit.

And there we go, round in a circle once again. We who voted out are accused of being insane, or stupid, or ill informed. All because we disagree with those who want to keep their comfy sinecures aboard the unaccountable gravy train that is the EU. Sigh. The EU is accountable though. People are repl...

Re: Celebrating Brexit.

It is just an extension of the last election that was showered in massive untruths. In April 2010 the economy was deemed a disaster with our debt of around £900 Billion and only 1.3% growth by the Tories. By April 2015 Tories were lauding how brilliant they are with running the economy even though t...

No Alburt The fiasco of Brexit was not democracy. The claims of the exiters are even being denied and ridiculed by themselves. Of course one should be able to sit back and take stock. The bare minimum for such a major decision should be a second referendum. Would so many people have voted Leave if ...

Mary I appreciate you are one of the nicer and long term posters . It is surely too early to judge any of the things that could or would be caused by secession, especially as it has not happened yet. It might very well make us 4k per year poorer , how on earth would we know at this stage. The insis...

One should always think of the neighbours when considering activities. MWAV. Why not de camp to the Woodhouse.
