Re: The future of Sydenham Markets

The localism act 2011 allows a community right to challenge: The Community Right to Challenge gives community groups, parish councils and local authority employees the right to submit an “expression of interest” in taking over and running a local authority service. The local authority must consider...

Re: May 8th

The latest copy of the Sydenham Society newsletter (that's Sydenham in London, not Sydenham in Oxfordshire) has confirmed that the nearest Next store is in Aylesbury, but has it at 40 miles away. The distance to Aylesbury is correct, but I'm sure I have seen another Next store closer than Aylesbury....

Re: Stabbing on a train

It does feel a little bit mean posting all of this on here about her without her knowing about it. Imagine how the victim of the 'little stabbing' or his/her family and friends feel should they read her tweet. when posting in a public forum about a violent assault it is best not to post something t...

Re: Stabbing on a train

And it might be worth noting that her Twitter feed has NOT been flooded with comments on this since her details appeared here earlier. You are right, but have a look at the comments on http://www.newsshopper.co.uk/news/11258379.Southeastern_train__becomes_crime_scene__after_assault_at_Lower_Sydenha...

Re: Stabbing on a train

Well, I'll leave it to HB to change the subject line if he wishes, it is easy enough to do.
My point remains that the right place to respond is on twitter, not on STF.

Re: Stabbing on a train

User '‏@ELemoine' said: "Little stabbing in train lower Sydenham. Late for meeting as many others". What an absolutely ridiculous thing to say? Someone's been stabbed, it shouldn't matter if it's little. And what constitutes a little stabbing anyway? Oh, and diddums you're late for your m...

Re: fatal stabbing in Wells Park Road.

It's inner London, the majority of the youths in this area are not savoury characters, maybe Lewisham are just letting these people have what they want. Chicken shops. Same can be said for most of Sydenham really... Like having those payday loan places, it's most likely the reality of Sydenham and ...

Re: SEE3

This appears to be my error? But also Michael needed to find a SEE3 page dated back to Oct’13 so was not available at a more recent date? I never found this and looked therefore a passer-by would not. Also literally days ago the ‘About’ section was on the top right and only included Director. ... I...

Re: SEE3

Okay thanks- that's useful. The 'About' section on See3 web site did though until days ago only provide Director info or am I incorrect? I think you are wrong. Here is the internet archive of the 'about ' page from October last year: https://web.archive.org/web/20131007225507/http://www.see3.co.uk/...

Re: SEE3

I'm not involved in administering the website but I think you will find all articles available in the archive (available halfway down the right-navigation bar). You can then see articles month by month. If you think something is missing you can always use the Internet Archive service. It would seem ...

Re: Sydenham Market - Saturday, 10th May

Please Michael don’t pick apart each sentence that I write because it’s unhelpful and when you cut and paste it can result in being misleading, comments risk being read out of context. As Rachel has said, these are the comments that people will remember. Michael where was the place in FH you sugges...

Re: Sydenham Market - Saturday, 10th May

My reasons for continuing to express my thoughts on the Forum are because I am well aware that I’ve been highly difficult at points around SEE3 but I do at the same time genuinely care about what happens on our high street. I’ve not always expressed this well but do give this some thought and my vi...

Re: Sydenham Market - Saturday, 10th May

Of course it’s forced; a piano didn’t just arrive on the street in FH. But if it works then good. Markets don’t force people to change their shopping habits they offer a different experience, different choices and support local start-ups/ traders. Plus may help boast existing traders. I think we ha...

Re: Sydenham Market - Saturday, 10th May

Why I have said things can feel ‘forced’ is because we cannot force an artistic or say bohemian feel to our community because that is a natural process, led by artists which evolves organically. A piano, graffiti etc etc etc Leaving a piano in the street is one of the least forced actions one could...

Sydenham Market - Saturday, 10th May

11am-5pm tomorrow at Venner Square & Queensthorpe Square, Sydenham Road
Please come along and support the local traders. Don't be put off by a little bit of rain, just bring an umbrella (it is still more fun than shopping at a boring supermarket)!

I read your question close after you posted but thought SEE3 may like to answer it so didn’t reply. Although I can't take the responsibility for responding to every SEE3 issue, I only didn't reply because I was in a meeting until 9:30pm last night with the local police (don't worry, I haven't be ch...
