Steve, once again you are a star. I was looking at no57, but it has just gone under offer. Damn! The staircases are as original, as are the windows and oak paneled ceiling. Original featires have been lost in some ofthe flats, but most walls are stud work and some of the houses have been done up to ...

Maybe they should run the Blue mountain cafe judging by the comments in the other tread, and the Blue Mountain people can makeover this place!

THOSE HUGE BUILDINGS ON CRYSTAL PALACE PARK ROAD

Does anyone have any info on these, the ones overlooking Crystal Palace Park, or old pictures. I have seen a few of them recently (househunting) and they are amazing inside, it would be very interesting to know more.

Actually the council can impose fines on properties that hoard rubbish as I understand. I don't know about this particular property, but it can be a problem.

The title of this post says 'what do you think of it'. I haven't been in and I clearly said that it may be wonderful once you are inside. I said what I thought about it, as asked. From what I see I wouldn't want to go inside, something a business owner might concider a problem if the way the busines...

This building is listed so the basic styling cannot be changed i.e. the windows etc. It is nicer inside. The food is tasty and the mood of the interior is mellow. Many women enjoy being there. Thats fine, you dont have to change the building, just how it looks. I'm sure the food is wonderful. It's ...

I'm all for local businesses, but this 'snack bar' looks awful. I certainly wouldn't go in there. The name puts me off alone. Is it premier? It certainly doesnt look premier! Sorry to be so negative, but if this is your business think about how you present yourself. You may be the best cafe in the w...

Sounds great, can they buy the greyhound please? I don't get these 'bloody gastropub' arguments. There are loads of pubs around, some closed down becasue no-one went to them. How many gastro pubs do we have in Sydenham? 1. There is room for both. I live in Brockley, how many gastropubs do we have th...

Where was the lodge? Great pictures of CP. Later ones obviously as the right hand part was missing after the first fire. I popped into the CP museum on Saturday and has a great chat with the curator there while I was out viewing flats.houses around the area. It's a great museum and hope they can rai...

Ok, why don't some local businesses sponsor a panel so they get free advertising?

OR

We could paint the panels like a brick wall and have ads of local businesses painted like the old style ads they used to paint on the sides of buildings before we went mad with billboards.

When you get art, you don't get as much grafitti, or it make grafitti invisible. So... Why cant we get the owners of the site to pay for some art to go on the bill boards, perhaps a mural should be painted on there. How about a freeze of old postcard views of the greyhound from field to today with s...

Mann Countrywide sent me the details of 113 Fairlawn Park today which was clever of them at the new inflated price. Luckily they didnt write 'hahaha' at the bottom of it! I know these things are probably automated, but even so, you would have thought they might have made sure I wasn't sent the detai...

Glad to have the review, I have thought of going in there but it just looks so awful from the outside. That's probably the problem, which is a problem with a lot of the high street. It has decent shops, it just doesnt look like it does.
