Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?

probably, yes, but from the exposure it's had, I suspect it'll be rammed in there on opening night.
and there may well be first day, unforseen, teething, issues.

Re: 20 mph speed limits

lol - just received a reply from customer care at Abellio - they misunderstood. When I said 'number of drivers' they thought I meant the individual identification numbers of those bus drivers who'd had tickets - not, as I intended, an anonymous count of the number of tickets.

lobby your local council(s) for some passive speed reduction measures. chicanes, road narrowings, humps, etc.

Re: 20 mph speed limits

yes, Data Protection Act might be relevant, however, they could anonymise the data, and I didn't ask for anything that would identify anyone, I just wanted numbers per year, and the reply was way below (what I suspect is a legal minimum for) what is expected as a response for an FOI request. I deal ...

Re: 20 mph speed limits

- email to Abellio Good afternoon, As part of my research into driver behaviour, please could you tell me the number of bus drivers who have been given speeding tickets or fines, within the London boroughs that have become whole borough 20mph zones, since becoming 20 mph zones? Broken down by year ...

Re: Beer Steer

'beer' covers many options! it all depends on what you like. I used to like stouts and porters, but recently I've been drinking lambics, saisons, Goze, Gueze, etc, and sour beers. There's plenty to choose from, and almost everything you can buy in Bobs or Bottle cave will be above average. Belgian b...

Re: 20 mph speed limits

statistics eh?! If you take all the accidents where a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle, and just look at those where the speed of the vehicle was in the range 28 - 35, and those in the range 18-25 - you'll see, without any controversy, that there were fewer KSI (Killed or Seriously Injured), in the h...

Re: Litter on the streets of Sydenham

we need to get the message to school children that it's not ok to drop litter in the street, and over time that will filter upwards. Far too often I see school kids dropping litter, and it's obvious that they don't care, or don't realise the implications. They're not giving it a second thought, it's...

Re: Some sort of bar/beer shop

I personally am not likely to buy more or less beer and /or wine than previously, so therefore if I do buy from here it will be instead of buying from somewhere else (probably Bob Wines). But it might persuade people to buy there instead of going to another area, or instead of buying from a supermar...

Re: Water Meter

It used to be that maintenance of water pipes was to the building edge - so a leak in the garden would be repaired by Thames Water, even though it's on private property. that changed, so that now maintenance responsibility lies with property owner, so you are responsible for water pipes in your buil...

Re: Big crash outside station - Sydenham road closed

If you drive with enough gap between the vehicle in front of you and yourself (2 second rule?) - there is plenty of space to see road markings, and avoid a collision if the person in front stops suddenly.
