Re: Planning Application - Gas Holder site

To clarify, there will only be 8 parking spaces, for blue badge holders. The process so far has involved talk of a car free development. The application suggests there is nowhere nearby to park, as all the roads have double yellow lines and the car parks have time limits. They don't mention that tho...

Planning Application - Gas Holder site

The planning application for the (former) Gas Holder site is now live and open for comments etc... Three buildings proposed, "between 5 and 15 storeys". It says something about phased development, which presumably means they won't build the next one until they've sold what's been built, so...

Re: Tue 29 March - Recycling?

Sorry to hear that.

We've had two recycling collections in 4 days. Once on Saturday because they missed last week and then again today, on our usual collection day.

Seems ridiculous to collect from one road twice in a week and nothing for weeks elsewhere.

Re: Review of polling places and districts - have your say

Strange, as my kids school (Haseltine) is always closed to education on polling day. A shame The Bridge has been closed, as that would have made a great place for polling day. Probably still would if the door was opened. I note the Bowling Club hasn't been abandoned yet either. There is also The Liv...

Is this the same planning application for the land previously described as The Footzie Social Club? I'm not clear which bit of the Dylon site hasn't already been built on.

Re: Planting Street Trees - Sponsor a tree for 2022 planting

Should we expect the council to replace trees they originally planted and then removed or do we have to pay to have them replaced? I used to live on a tree lined road, which is now much less green, but it would cost thousands of pounds to replace all the trees the council have removed. The tree outs...

Wasn't my point. But she hasn't addressed any of my points either.

I assumed that meant she agreed with everything I typed.

Re: Sainsbury’s Local safety screen removal

and how many died of untreated cancer? Very few I would imagine, as we tend to treat cancer unless patients refuse or it is extremely advanced. There was some impact on cancer treatment, because the Govt kept waiting until they were told hospitals were not going to be able to cope before they did a...

Deaths are not an average of 43 per day. They are over 100 and the data for deaths by date reported only goes up to 17 September.

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

I get most of my information from lamp posts, which are the council's favoured method of advertising planning notices. Presumably this is because it's the best way to get information to people using an area.

Re: Lewisham approves keeping Bridge Leisure Centre closed

Managed into the ground and now residents suffer the consequences. I used to take my first born there for swimming lessons. Brilliant teacher left because of the mismanagement. They wouldn't run a class if they didn't have 3 kids, so you'd end up arriving to find out you just had to walk home again....

I've heard a lot about claims of increased suicide, with no evidence offered to date. Here is a chart showing how lockdown impacted on self harm admissions. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EqqgP0fXIAIzSzq.jpg https://twitter.com/john_actuary/status/1345072645960855555 And a very interesting illustration...

Would be nice to see something other than Labour, just to break up the domination, which is rarely a good thing for democracy. Although I don't think I could ever vote Tory myself... Meanwhile, the Lewisham website declares: "No Council by-elections until further notice On Government advice, th...

Re: New homes for Sydenham Hill Estate?

It's a shame, these days, that you seem to have to be for all development, regardless of how it looks on a road, in a conservation area containing some pretty lovely looking old houses/ mansions, or against all development of any description. If only there was a middle ground where you could support...

Re: Gentrifiers

On google maps, it looks as though the junction you have indicated is closed to traffic, probably to stop rat running, with a fire gate blocking the road. It appears to have been this way as far back as 2008, looking at streetview and the bollards have had blue 'bicycle only' signs on them since 201...
