I understood they were not replacing the lights in Princethorpe for they were relatively new. I also much prefer the lights in Princethorpe anyway.

Don't bank on it. They failed to complete the Lightning scheme in the Thorpes, then claimed that they had replaced all the old lights when they hadn't until confronted with photographic evidence to the contrary, then promised to complete the outstanding works by Christmas, failed, promised to do it...

I have spoken to skanska about the banners today for I am very concerned that they are now falling off lighting columns onto the carriageway which will cause an accident. They have assured me that an order has been raised by the Council and that they will be removed on Sunday 23rd April.

This is very disappointing. I have noticed some of the said banners are now in the carriageway. I would have rescued them but I didn't want to be run over!

I've heard a rumour that the new owner should be starting on site in the next week or so and that the Greyhound should be open by August. Let's hope the rumour is true and we are on the home strait!

Thanks for the info. The architect who is acting as the applicants agent is Alan Camp Architects who represented Nandos on their Lewisham premises. I think that the Council do a sterling job in keeping Sydenham clean bearing in mind they are facing an uphill battle with some people littering, dog fouling and fly tipping. Very positive news tonight.

The jewel in the crown is the sold notice on the greyhound but it is good to also see a sold notice on the orb commercial unit.

I see an amended licence application has been made. I think they are trying to cover all the bases in terms of potential uses: plays, films, live music, sports etc.
