I am glad they said that. Will keep all those Dulwich-ites from flooding over the hill.

Re: Trattoria Raffaele; Let's hope prices stay the same
I think its a great article, and love that Sydenham is now attracting the Chinese and Americans in their droves.
Could it be the start of more restaurants wanting to come to Sydenham?

Re: Sydenham vs Forest Hill
Not a great deal between the two areas, but the key benefits of Sydenham are: 1. Better transport: Penge East and Lower Sydenham give much better transport options (Sydenham and FH stations offer the same). 2. More parks: Mayow, Sydenham Wells, Alexandra Rec, Crystal Palace, Home Park, Sydenham Wood...

We use Wickham Security in West Wickham http://www.wickhamsecurity.co.uk 0208 777 8299 Our alarm includes 6 monthly maintenance visits, with the alarm linked directly to the police via a 24 hour monitoring service. This means that if the alarm is set off for any reason, the monitoring service first ...

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?
I have nothing against Sainsbury's (I do most of my shopping there), but it would have been nice to see a Little Waitrose take the space that Sainsbury's has already secured. Only because we already have a Tescos, Sainsburys and Coop nearby, and it would be nice to have a fourth choice for groceries...

Re: Starting-up a Barbers business in Sydenham
Firstly, welcome to the area. Sydenham is a great place to live. We like to keep it a secret! There are a number of good points to come out of this thread so far. Clearly, your point of difference will be key. Take a quick walk of the high street and see what is on offer (price point etc). There is ...

The Fryest Uppest
Good morning,
I noticed this tweet yesterday. Has the rent scared a new retailer away?
https://twitter.com/OFMLondon/status/689129996384866304
Does anyone have any more information on who might be moving in?
Cheers.

Re: Bob Wines
My experience with Councillor Best has always been very poor. Any comment / information she has provided generally involves a lack of research or knowledge of the matters in question, and she is always slow to respond. Its a shame people like this have such power when they are creating absolutely no...

I have enjoyed the previous posts on your blog Dirtysoutheast, and agree with Rod Taylor - you sized up Sydenham very well.

Re: WG Grace
To whom do we need to speak in order to add Mr William Gilbert Grace to a position on the roundabout?
As Nigel said, you don't need to be a cricket fan to appreciate the contribution he made to the local area.

Thanks for the heads up, biscuitman!
This is another welcome addition to Sydenham. Great to see a diverse range of stores opening in the area!

We also used Mann to buy last year, and they were great.
They come across as very honest and reliable from a buyer's perspective, which is very comforting.

It's 100 years today since the passing of the great WG Grace, who lived in Sydenham for many years.
