Hi All, For those of you who were not aware, there is another meeting on Sat 16th Feb at Sydenham Library starting at 2pm. This is a follow up to our original meeting on 26th Jan to establish and NW scheme in FP. Hopefully you will have received the mail drop (quite short notice) but I thought I wou...

Hi All, Lee, I have pm'd you with the majority of this message so this for the benefit of any other interested parties. With regards to the NW meeting, it was quite a small turnout, small but significant. We confirmed 3-4 co-ordinators for FP and the turnout from the Sydenham Safer N'hood Team was i...

Maybe we could just cut and paste East Dulwich into Sydenham High Street and be done with it. I am all for improving the high street, and I am as aspirational as anyone else. But the tone of some of the posts in this thread and others has nothing do with improving things and more to do with removing...

I have lived in Syd for 7 years and never been in the Golden Lion. I cannot believe they are going to play live jazz (my passion) and I can't make it.

Gutted from Sydenham :(

Perhaps one way of making the high street a bit more cohesive in terms of looks is for Lewisham Council to limit the types of shop signs/banners/colours that new businesses can use. Not so that all the shops look identical but so that continuity can be seen when you look down (and up  ) the hi...

Good to see there is life after Mayow Road and the Dolphin. I was starting to think I lived in the twilight zone. There seems to be little interest the the area towards the library etc (discounting the Bell Green Development). Interesting isn't it that the Cobbs Corner to Mayow Road residents get co...

Hi Lee, Don't give up hope, I think you'll find 113 still on the market after Xmas. Although I understand them holding out for more money, it hasn't materialised and probably never will. The price on this property has consistently dropped in the months it has been up for sale. I know the property yo...

Bell Green Development

I have seen the hoardings up from the developers at Bell Green. Does anyone know when work is due to start and where we can see the final approved plan.

We went to PM on Sat with 4 kids / 3 adults. Ribs were great, but the pork chop was incinerated, chips a bit soggy, chicken wings a bit soggy. Waitress struggled to understand our order and a beer we ordered wasn't available. Oh and back to the 4 kids thing they only had 1 high chair  . Why sp...

I have lived on Fairlawn Park for 5 years approx and its a fairly quiet street. As stated we did have a problem with the mini scooters but I got in touch with the Safer Neighbourhood Team and they were quick to respond and told me they had spoken to the offending yoots!! Things quietened down after ...

But the area lower down, beyond Kent House is clearly another matter. Here is an part of Sydenham which has many positive points - some good streets, a library and a potentially nice park. With this in mind, surely the audit should have started at this end and worked its way up to Cobbs Corner and ...

Hi Jwana,

Welcome to Lewisham (maybe). I too am in a mixed marriage and am looking at areas in Oz to relocate to. Whereabouts are you? by the way Lewisham is one of the most ethnically diverse areas in London, so you will have no problems in that regard.

Hi Chris, The area between Cobbs Corner and Mayow Road has some the most expensive housing in Sydenham. As the talk is of "millions" with regards to investment, surely the area past Mayow Road towards Bell Green is in need of more investment? What are the plans for these areas in the grand...
