Any advice on damp walls appreciated?
Have you had any damp problems? Im living in an old flat with serious damp problems and would really appreciate any advice, some of my neighbouring walls are so damp there is mould. The adjoining walks( outside) is flaking, there's been mention of rising damp and poor ventilation from different peop...

Re: Kirkdale/Dartmouth Road New builds
Thats fabulous news, well done to those involved. I really can't understand on what basis the planners approved this build, it's madness. The council has announced that it plans to sell the old council building at the back of kirkdale in Willow way, no access can now be guaranteed by the unadopted p...

Re: Dartmouth Road?
Hi I live in this area and like it. I feel safe and often come home late at night alone as i work shifts, no problem and i've been here 8 years. You see the odd shifty character perhaps from the hostel, but in the past couple of months they seem to have not been around so much. The end of last year/...

Re: WHAT IF no 13: BILLINGS Fishmongers & butchers
Mmmm just had sea bream bought from here, lovey and fresh. delicious. This is a fabulous addition to the high street, it was busy today and rightly so. The family running it are friendly and professional, the recipe card in the window is a great idea and the shop itself looks great. So nice to shop ...

Re: Kirkdale/Dartmouth Road New builds
yep i've looked, still think it's terrible. For me the old building is still working, it fits, people can live and work there comfortably. Why put another 29 potential tenants in a place where they will be cramped, squeezed in and fed up. I would be if i lived in the new build, why is it not good eno...

The planning dept will be discussing the plans for this building on Thursday at 7.30pm at the Town Hall. I'm objecting as I think it will just add to the cheap new buildings on this side and end of Kirkdale. Some are half empty, one not in use at all. The accomodation offered by these new builds is ...

No Bensonby is not lost, he holds a view that most replying so far people don't agree with. This was discussed at length on the 'street drinkers survey' a couple of years ago. I've worked with street drinkers in the recent past, although not the only remit of the job I was doing the experience gave ...

The woodman
It's Mervin's last night tonight in the Woodman, I'm pretty gutted he kept a clean pub and served a lovely sunday lunch and most of all, he really is a fabulous bloke. This really teaches us to use it or loose it although the greedy breweries are to blame, they where charging extorionate rent. A rea...

Wanted: PIED PIPER
A Pied Piper is wanted for removal of rats (as big as cats) from a derelict property on Kirkdale , to travel from Kirkdale to 1 Catford Road, London, SE6 4RU. Expenses paid. The enviromental Health Service of Lewisham has, despite many neighbours complaints ignored any pleas. We need YOUR help. For ...
Rats 'as big as cats' have been spotted during the day by near by builders. The foreman of the building company has been shocked at how many have been seen during the day and the size of them. They haven't been bothered by the builders at all. I've put yet another complaint in to the council having ...
