Re: Alexandra pub
Lee is correct. Everything is relative and it was a low starting point but in the last two to three years: New community events: - Halloween Trail and Easter Trail events for children on High Street. Both attracted 100s of families - Penge Day - a large community event in August - Pengelicious, a ne...

Re: Penge At Christmas, 10th December
It's a few stalls selling gifts, a craft beer purveyor, rides, a santa's grotto and lots of music acts on a stage. All on the High Street. Starts at 11 and finishes at 4.

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?
Has anybody thought of contacting the current managers at the Grape and Grain in Palace? They have to quit the site in January because Wetherspoons are taking it over and I believe they recently showed an interest in the Alexandra in Penge.

While I'm on, Southey Brewing Co, who are half of the former Late Knights and now operating out of the old LK brewery, have their first efforts on sale at the Alex Nurseries on Thursday 1st December pm.

Re: Alexandra pub
A new tenant/manager has now been found for the Alex and an opening date set of end January. It's Jozef, who recently managed the Antic pubs the Sheverdine Goathouse (S Norwood) and Goldsmiths (Penge). It'll be a bistro pub with craft beers, upmarket lagers, wine and of course, food.

Re: The Greyhound Welcomes.........
It won't be a Nando's. Wind-up merchant registers, posts once knowing it'll start a debate and then buggers off. There will be a new bistro pub at the Alexandra though, just over the border in SE20. Applicants, including "an impressive chain" (quote from developers) are currently being ass...

Re: BEER REBELLION
Late Knights don't exist any more but the 2 Beer Rebellions presumably still belong to one half of the former LK people, the former owner, Steve. I think his half will be rebranded soon but not sure where they will brew, so the beer may no longer be quite so local. The other half is now Southey Brew...

Himalayan won the Penge Tourist Board's Best Takeaway award for 2016 - voted by residents of SE20 and surrounding area. It is a really great place and lovely family. Their nine veg dish is a personal favourite.

Re: TFL to take over SouthEastern and Southern Rail
Eagle, do you ever get a train, other than to go to Whitstable for an oyster lunch? The trains are packed. I get the 7:12 from Kent House and it's got steadily worse as more and more people are living in zones 3, 4, 5 and 6 because they can't afford rents in zones 1 and 2. Unfortunately zones 1 and ...

Re: Anybody got £1.2m going spare?
£1.2m is a lot of money but investors see mixed commercial and residential as a good investment in London, especially with a fair sized footprint like that.

The Bridge House event is nearly sold out so get a wiggle on. Goldsmiths has a band on.

Bob's don't just do wines. They also do craft beers too.
