Re: Park Court Rubbish - Knighton Park Rd
There is a public health issue at stake and so the Environmental Health Department is who you should refer to. We are! Write direct to the puppet mayor. I doubt you will receive a response but he is supposed to be responsible. Domestic waste is a local authority matter and they are obliged BY LAW t...

Park Court Rubbish - Knighton Park Rd
I was almost certain that I have seen references to this issue before on the Forum, but couldn't find anything through search, so feel free to point me in the right direction @admin The rubbish build up outside this new block of flats is ridiculous - I seem to remember hearing that the landlord had ...

Re: Any news on...
A lot of demolition work went on but it came to a halt. I believe there is an intention to purchase Sivyer's yard and incorporate that. If so then a revised planning application should be expected BUT no news so far. If Sivyer's yard is closed it will be a day for widespread celebration and I am su...

UPDATE: Thames have just sent me a text saying: 'Your water supply should soon be back to normal as we have now finished our repair. We are sorry for the disruption this has caused' ENDS

Re: School catchment areas
We are edging closer to the time when we need to apply for primary schools for our kids. We live on the south side of Sydenham high street and seems like we’d struggle to get into any local school based on the most recent catchment area data from 2017 (with the possible exception of Adamsrill). Cur...

Still wondering what is happening with the old Coop site, which would seem to me to be a good opportunity despite the lack of parking, which is probably a deal-breaker Ahem, Girton Road Car Park could hardly be closer. Doesn't do Lidl's any harm. Plus there it's a lot more convenient for the non-ca...

On the rodent issue, I have seen a few over by the petrol station - I think they enjoy the water around the car wash and the drains flowing down to the Pool river. I have never seen one anywhere near the store however, but I wouldn't be hugely surprised if they are around and about
Re: New aldi
I guess the gas holders site is a good option given the hammering Sainsburys is getting.

I would recommend Ted Johnson - he lives in Sydenham, is very good value and experienced.

Re: Noise in Lower Syd last night
Its just weekend revels, people unwinding in the summer after a weeks hard work. Leave them be, it's a diverse multicultural city and different cultures and the entertainment they bring should be embraced. I'd have gone along and joined in, especially if the drink was cheap. Can't beat a drink and ...

Re: Calabash of Culture
I have just left a comment on the planning form. This really is a terrible idea.
So many reasons why these types of places shouldn't be opened in this day and age - obesity, chicken welfare etc., but the main thing is that there are already about 6 on the high st!

Noooooooooo!!! Please no.chris 1961 wrote:Heard a rumour over the weekend from somebody that claims to have seen the approved plans, that the site will become a Wetherspoons pub.
Can't see that working myself as there is already a decent choice of pubs that serve food along Sydenham Road.

Re: St Philip Neri Meeting - Thursday 19 July 7pm
Good update, but what did they say about the actual building and the aesthetics? I thought the main point was whether they felt they contravened the original approved plans and that they were going to, in the first instance, get the cladding changed?

Re: Obstruction of Knighton Park Road
I have to say I rarely have to park too far away from my house, but then again I am at work during the day, so I guess as my car is already there, I have a space so to speak - if I am there during the day and go out, I am often looking for a different space no doubt. The permit situation is a tough ...

Do you know who is responsible? Is the block owned by Hexagon?
I've had a brief look on the interweb and can't find any clues - I think a strong letter needs to be written as it seems there either aren't enough bins or there are simply not enough collections....but it's pretty foul

The other issue here is that the waste lorries can't get down from the high st and don't seem to want to reverse all the way down from the Hillmore Gv end - thus the flats at the end of the road never have their bins collected - it looks pretty filthy Park House has its bins collected separately. I...

Re: Loud motorbike revving can be heard from Westwood Hill
We have heard them for the last couple of nights, although interestingly not last night. There have always been a few bikes around since I've lived here - I know of three that are residents of the flats next to Home Pk - and they fly along the high st at night. Seems they have gained a few pals. It ...

Re: The Monstrosity - ie St Philp Neri school building
To be honest, it is too early for me to make suggestions about improvements, although I certainly could make some! First, we need to hear from Lewisham on their next steps in the matter. This is not going to be a quick fix, and I believe that we should both focus attention on the planning failures,...
