Funny all these remarks about Kennedys sausages; I was brought up on them, especially the beef variety from Penge, my mum would not buy any thing else. When I moved out of Penge in 1988 I had stopped buying them as the quality had deteriorated markedly, all paste and gristle. either they bucked up a...

Another tip. If you have expensive electrical items bought for xmas, DO NOT put the empty boxes outside for the dustman in full view, you are just advertising the fact you have all that new gear availiable for nicking. If you let the cardboard get nice and damp somewhere it will squash up really sma...

Best thing that could be done for any high st is to provide a society that removes the need for shops that are shuttered or meshed all night and half the day,
Not a pleasent experience to walk down a high st late at night thats a wall of steel shutters covered in graffiti

Theres noting troubling me Falkor, it was meant to have an element of humour. Like you I have a certain disdain for the workings of our "masters", so i always refer to my family as being of Kent, not the London borough of Bromley or where ever. I know what I think has a better ring to it. ...

I take it then Falkor that should you ever, after years of hard work and research ,publish a book or similar, that I can copy it all out and flog it off as my own work, or use it for my own ends ? The notion that I live by my laws and not yours is exactly the problem caused by the claims of muslim n...

Martin, That was not so much a vault, as a building sunk well into the ground; I remember it well and have mentioned it somewhere here. Very damp and overgrown I had to be hoisted up on a pals shoulders to lookin .Full of statues in far better condition than those shown This would have been about 19...

Bit of a nit picker, I`ve spent some time reading the road traffic acts; No one has a "right" to park anywhere the highway. Even when paid for its strictly a concession. There are some quite tricky rules for what you can and cant do on the highway in the strict letter of the law, And by th...

On the subject of statues, many of them were stored in a rundown brick building, in a dell, behind what is now that music stage thing by the little lake, About the mid 60`s they were all put up for auction along with the flower vases on the terrace, Another act of vandalism, from the LCC as it was t...

What ever the ifs and buts of this pic, every time I see anything like it, I am convinced that the biggest criminal act of govt authority of the 20th century was the failure to rebuild the Crystal Palace.

What an asset it would be,and what a better project than that rubbish Dome.
